5 Hot Car Discounts of the Week

Snapshot – With a constant churn in the Indian car market due to the launch of new car models, discounts on cars that will soon be replaced are ongoing phenomena. On the other hand, hotly anticipated new car launches see incumbent market leaders go on a discounting drive to ensure that their leadership positions are maintained. On the whole, car discounts are here to stay and there’s always a nice, chunky discount to be had if you shop around. CarToq profiles this week’s five large discounts on cars sold in the sub-10 lakh rupee segment.

Fiat will launch the facelifted Grande Punto Evo in the next few days. The older version of the Punto is therefore, available at a large discount of over 1 lakh rupees. The Punto Active Diesel’s latest ex-showroom price in Pune is 4.79 lakh rupees and Fiat is also offering a free insurance scheme with the car. The on-road price of the Punto Active Diesel comes up to about 5.5 lakh rupees, which makes the car a fantastic, value buy. The Punto Diesel is powered by a 1.3 liter Multijet engine that outputs 75 Bhp-197 Nm. A five speed manual gearbox is standard. The Punto is known for its vault like build, sublime ride and sure footed handling. If you want a big-car feel for a small car price, the Punto Diesel at the discounted price makes a lot of sense.

Maruti Suzuki Ertiga MPV sees 85,100 rupee discounts

The Sail Petrol Sedan uses a 1.2 liter-4 cylinder engine that outputs 85 Bhp-113 Nm while the Sail Diesel features the 1.3 liter-4 cylinder diesel engine (Multijet) that outputs 78 Bhp-205 Nm.
