The Maruti Ertiga ZXI does seem like the most value for money choice here, simply because of the flexibility of space that it offers. You can use it as a spacious five seater with good boot space or you could fit in seven people when needed. That’s what makes it a better choice here than the Toyota Etios V. The Etios is spacious, yet simple – but…[Read more]
The instructions about that emergency lock to shift the shifter out of P is there in the instruction manual as well. This kind of thing of the shifter jamming in P mode happens, sometimes, especially in the hills, if you park on an incline and the car rolls a little even after shifting into P. This happens because the “parking pawl” as it’s called…[Read more]
Teflon coating is useful, but not long lasting. The effect fades off within a year, and a good wax-polish job is usually better. In fact, there’s an offer that one of our marketing partners is offering for cartoq members: http://www.cartoq.com/offers/car-cleaning-and-teflon-coating-at-shockingly-low-prices/ . That also is for Rs. 1500. The 3M…[Read more]
Which month are you planning your road trip in? If you go in early July, you will have better roads right through, and except for near the passes, where you need to take some care, the rest of the road can be done by any car normally. Verna diesel will go, just be careful about stones / rocks and water crossings. People have taken Altos and Nanos…[Read more]

That’s a tough one. All the companies have a tie up with some car company or the other. Check with Maruti – which one provides cashless insurance and a zero dep policy. ICICI lombard is pretty aggressive at hard-selling you a policy and they may offer a discount.
go to policybazaar.com, compare and opt for best …. go for comprehensive package, …. read their terms and conditions carefully, …. i’ve bajaj allianz insurance cover for ritz zxi (dec 2012), its a comprehensive package !!!
Did he not tell you that valve seats get treatment from the manufacturer to work just fine? Also the rear suspension has changes to hold the permanent extra weight without a problem. He is probably referring to kits that are retrofit to existing cars which were originally manufactured to run on petrol. For more details @Shreyans Jain
Not true. When I sold my WagonR, it had 2.75L km om the clock. Over half of them were logged on CNG. Have a sequential kit installed. Be regular with oil and filter changes. Get the injectors, throttle body and the radiator cleaned periodically. Its all about basic maintenance.
And just to be doubly sure, run your car on petrol for the first few km every day. See these tips, and the comments below it: http://www.cartoq.com/five-simple-and-essential-tips-to-help-cng-cars-last-longer/
I’m not sure if it is Denso or Delphi. I have the old compressor with me for my Scorpio CRDe lying at home. I got it replaced in 2011 – it cost me Rs. 17,500 plus taxes. Will check the brand. It was replaced at Koncept Noida, Mahindra’s ASC only.
VFM – Brio

sorry “good”
Swift is overpriced. i20 is expensive but you get a car with more power, plenty of features and a strong diesel engine. Brio offers excellent bang for your buck.
