I would go with the Swift (but only Swift ZXI, not the lower variants, because of poor brakes on the LXI and VXI). Its cheaper to maintain, has a nice revv-happy engine and is reasonable fuel-efficient for a petrol. It also rides okay and handles well even at higher speeds. Polo will only give me slightly better build quality at a higher…[Read more]

Hello friends, I bought a Sail Sedan a month ago. I was so happy to own it and drive it. But there are problems with the body like noises while driving. It is really a big headache to hear the noise from the right side of the dash board. I complained it on the very first day and the did this and that and sent me off. The noise further increased. I visited the showroom thrice so far. It is very dis -- more --

Sad to hear that you are facing this rattling issue with the Sail sedan. What did the mechanics / service centre say the noise was? Did they take a test and also identify the noise? Is it something to do with the plastics on the dashboard? Since your car is under warranty and you probably have the maintenance package already from GM, it should…[Read more]

Get the lights focussed, and that should improve things. As for the low-beam let it be as I think it is a HID (not sure), but you can upgrade the high-beam halogen bulb to a 100 watt one. If you want additional fog lamps, get a pair of Hella Rallye 4000 (Rs. 10,000 a pair I think) or LightForce lamps (Rs. 14,000) and mount them on the bumper or…[Read more]

From what I know, the T-Fort has a projector on low beam and that should not be an issue if properly focussed. You can try to use Phillips X-treme power of Osram nightbreaker for the high beam, in which case you can do without modifications.

I don’t think this is possible in the Nissan Sunny, because if I remember right, there is a cross-bar support behind the seat in the boot area. @anupam bhatnagar has a Sunny – he may be able to verify this.

You can upgrade your alternator – you just have to buy a new one from Lucas with the correct rating – you mean 90 AH right, not Watts. It can be done – but why do you want it? Are you putting in a bigger battery as well?

Technically it may be possible, but electricals are tricky things so be very sure of what all needs to be changed after upgrading an alternator. Will you require to change the entire wiring harness or only some parts. How will your ECU take it.

No, Mahindra may not launch diff locks in the Thar, but these are available in most 4×4 accessory shops, especially abroad – you can check for models from ARB, Locrite etc,. In India, you can get a mechanically locking differential from Eaton that will directly fit the rear diff of the Thar.
