Bad idea. This engine was discontinued ages back. Spares will be hard to find. A nine year old car will anyway have maintenance issues. Especially a diesel. Never buy a diesel that is more than 5 years old.

It is a very old diesel (technologically) to begin with. Secondly Suzuki never made a diesel engine ever (since 1955) ruling out any possibility of Maruti Suzuki doing it, the one in the Zen was sourced from Peugeot, just like currently Maruti diesel in India runs on Fiats 1.3 MJD. I would really stay away from a car which is discontinued and ran…[Read more]

Instead of the base model of the sedan, go for the LS model of the UVA. You will get more features for a wholesome driving experience. And still save money as compared to the base model of the sedan or the i20. In fact, when you are open to spending a lakh extra, go the whole hog and get the LT, complete with the safety kit.

I completely and strongly second what Shreyans has mentioned. An important reason is the safety kit which in my opinion is above any other convenience / luxury feature or snob value that a base / mid model of a larger vehicle has. Even from a features perspective, its you and your family / friends / relatives / colleagues etc who will sit INSIDE…[Read more]

Please take your car to the Ford Service center and let them check the issue. If it is not addressed at that point of time then escalate it.

Go to a dealer and ensure that its the buckle that is malfunctioning, it can also be due to inapt seat covers, seat belt being stuck behind the seat or some other small reason due to which you may be experiencing incorrect functioning. You are correct to mention that it is a very important safety issue and let me tell you that seat belts are one…[Read more]

The most important tip for you would be to read the manual of your car. Everything will be mentioned there. From my side, keep to the service schedule religiously, get the throttle body and the injectors cleaned as prescribed, maintain proper tire pressure. and get the radiator flushed in case it has not been flushed for the past 12 months or so.
