If the tyres are brand new, you will get a good price – only about 20% or so you may lose. However, if you get the EcoSport with Goodyear Assurance tyres – keep it, don’t change it. While the MRF’s where a little noisy and skittish on turns at higher speed, Ford says these two tyres were specifically designed for the EcoSport – so really don’t…[Read more]

It has keyless entry, but does not have the push-button ignition feature. You can get it fitted aftermarket – but ideally, if that’s a concern, pick the Titanium Plus variant only – the Rs. 70,000 or so difference you pay would be worth the investment in the long run if this is a concern. The biggest plus with the Titanium Plus variant is the six…[Read more]

Yes, the Duster is overpriced. It has good ride quality etc, but when you look at the plastics it doesn’t seem worth the money. Rs. 13 lakh on-road? Wow. Prices have sure shot up even more now.

Not a great idea. The Octavia has been discontinued for many years now and maintenance is going to be very costly. And then, an Octy with just 50k on the clock makes me suspect odometer tampering.

True, Octavia was discontinued more than 4.5 yrs back so the odo is definitely tampered. Stay away you won’t know what elese have been tampered on that vehicle.

First choice is franchise and not owned by Mahindra. And this has been a common issue that First Choice in different cities have been fooling customers. I would say go for safer bet lke Corolla/Civic/Innova/City which won’t hit you with repair bills if at all required in near future.

First Choice is notorious for frauds. Agree with Rohit, go for cars with proven reliability and low maintenance if you want to buy second hand

@hrk007, call the service station where it was serviced independently – or go there and enquire about the car. There have been cases in Delhi, where even a dealer like First Choice was found to have tampered the odometer of a car (Lajpat Nagar outlet). Shreyans and Rohit are right when they say that parts / maintenance would be expensive. But if…[Read more]

My friend want a urgent answer. He is having a big confusion which car to buy.He has compared two cars one is Swift Dzire vxi and second Polo gt tsi 1.2 which one will be better to drive, fuel, power, good features and smooth in riding.

Ask him to consider other options, as I will recommend neither. The reliability concerns regarding the Polo’s DSG gearbox as well known. And the Dzire VXi has unacceptably weak brakes. Ask him to upgrade to the Dzire ZXi instead if he really wants it(better brakes + safety kit). But my suggestion will be to wait for the Ecosport Ecoboost.

          in the given options i would go for polo gt tsi.reasons-german enginering,solid build quality,automatic ,105 ps engine,better brand image,excusivity factor,better interior quality,no waiting period,better to drive,etc.

Although comparing a dzire with Polo Tsi is a question itself. But as an answer Dzire stands nowhere except Maruti’s service back up. Other options that should be considered are, Ford Classic 1.6, Swift Zxi, Liva 1.5 TRD from the existing or wait for Ecosport & Linea TJET 2013 both expected mid of next month.

Space is expected to be much better. Same for the ride quality and dynamics. They may also provide the 140hp version of the MHwak engine. Really hope they do their homework properly with the new Scorpio and do not leave the customers to do the last 10-15% of the R&D like they did with the XUV. Nothing official about the launch though.

The new Scorpio won’t be out till end 2014. And even if it comes out, I would suggest waiting for at least six months before you decide to buy it, because going by M&M’s past track record, the first few batches invariably have issues… the last 10-15% of R&D on customers as Shreyans puts it :-) It is expected to be bigger than the current…[Read more]

Yeah, its a norm. Even if your old tires are worn down to shreds, you get about 200 buck per tire.

It is normal to ask for some money for your current tires. Even when the tires are worn out people get some money for them, maybe 50 or 100 rupees a tire, but even that is saving. Regards.

I suggest you to buy petrol car only if your running is limited to 1000kms/month. No it is not necessary to start your car every day as these days diesel engines are very much refined . You would be paying more cost , more registration tax , more VAT and more insurance if you buy diesel car.

No.. There are no limits. But please note that maintenance costs are also high in the diesel. As the vehicle ages the service cost for the same model petrol will be much less than Petrol. More over you get one advantage. everytime you fill fuel you pay less than the petrol guy. But you would have paid that extra when you bought your car.

Nothing extra is required. But it just does not make any sense to buy a diesel car if the running is limited.

Diesel is primarily chosen for cost savings. If you take cost out of the equation, modern diesels do not need any special care as compared to their petrol counterparts. The only thing with your usage will be that for such short runs your engine may not even come to optimum operating temperature if the ambient temperature is cold. It will sound and…[Read more]

Woofer and amp setup will compromise the warranty. The smart way is to keep the head unit and just upgrade the speakers. The sound quality will significantly improve without spoiling the look of the dash and without affecting the warranty.

Any suggestions on the speaker? Can I exchange my speakers?Actually I was planing to install a GPS cum bluetooth cum touchscreen DVD player. Is it possible to install that without changing my head unit.If no what is the alternative? How much can I get for exchanging speakers of ZXI model?

The alternative is in your pocket. Your smartphone. Both Google maps on Android and Nokia Drive on Windows 8 provide accurate and reliable navigation with turn-by-turn and voice output as well. Cant comment on what you’ll get for the ZXi’s stock speakers. Lets see if others can pitch in on this. Replace with with brands like Rainbow or Infinity
