In that particular question, the person had asked for choices of petrol vehicles within a budget of 8L. I had chosen Punto 1.4 Emotion and Fiesta Classic Titanium 1.6. The diesel Punto cannot be considered purely being a diesel as the choice was to be made between petrol vehicles. The TJet – Older stock is all sold out and the new does not seem…[Read more]

Here are some things off the top of my head – Poor marketing efforts (since I barely saw any advts on TV or magazines or anywhere else like the Duster or XUV), larger price tag for a smaller size vehicle which does not go well with the masses (since they lose bragging rights to others in the masses or lose the snob value of having a larger…[Read more]

Bad idea. This engine was discontinued ages back. Spares will be hard to find. A nine year old car will anyway have maintenance issues. Especially a diesel. Never buy a diesel that is more than 5 years old.

It is a very old diesel (technologically) to begin with. Secondly Suzuki never made a diesel engine ever (since 1955) ruling out any possibility of Maruti Suzuki doing it, the one in the Zen was sourced from Peugeot, just like currently Maruti diesel in India runs on Fiats 1.3 MJD. I would really stay away from a car which is discontinued and ran…[Read more]

Instead of the base model of the sedan, go for the LS model of the UVA. You will get more features for a wholesome driving experience. And still save money as compared to the base model of the sedan or the i20. In fact, when you are open to spending a lakh extra, go the whole hog and get the LT, complete with the safety kit.

I completely and strongly second what Shreyans has mentioned. An important reason is the safety kit which in my opinion is above any other convenience / luxury feature or snob value that a base / mid model of a larger vehicle has. Even from a features perspective, its you and your family / friends / relatives / colleagues etc who will sit INSIDE…[Read more]
