Road rage can quickly become violent and can give an ugly outcome. A Bangalore based software engineer was stabbed in a road rage incident on Tuesday early morning. Here is what happened.
What exactly happened?
The incident happened near Chocolate Factory on the Tavarekere main road at about 3 AM. Pranay Mishra, who is a techie at Accenture was on his way to meet his girlfriend and a friend who stayed nearby when he was killed.
Pranay belongs from Bhubaneswar and has been staying in Bangalore for a long time. Pranay returned home from a party at 2:45 AM. After getting dropped by a friend, he went out to meet his girlfriend on a Honda Activa.
A senior police officer says,
“Pranay went on his Honda Activa and reached the Chocolate Factory Junction where two bike-borne men accosted him. They stabbed him many times in the stomach and neck. When Pranay tried to escape, they chased and stabbed him.The duo fled when he collapsed. A few passersby noticed Pranay and rushed him to St John’s Medical College Hospital where he was declared brought dead,” a police officer said. Police suspect somebody known to Pranay killed him for personal reasons. Pranay’s mobile, wallet, scooter and other valuables were intact. This indicates he was not attacked for gain,”
The cops investigated the CCTV footage that is installed around the junction to get vital details. The police say that both the suspects are listed as rowdy-sheeters in Madiwala police station. Police had sent three teams to catch the killers and one team zeroed in on the duo near Dodda Nagamangala where they reached a dead end. According to the cops, the duo abandoned the scooter and started running in different directions to escape the cops. The cops caught one of the suspects after firing three rounds.
The suspect’s two-wheeler brushed against Pranay’s scooter according to the cops. Pranay then shouted at the drunk duo and moved on. Later, the duo chased him down and stabbed him multiple times.
