German automaker Audi launched its new A6 c-segment luxury sedan in India at a price of Rs 42.5 lakhs.
Audi aims to corner a part of the growing luxury sedan market with the A6.
Current Audi models in the Indian automobile market include the Audi A8 and the Audi TT. The car will set a new benchmark against the traditional players, said Audi AG country manager Michael Weber in Mumbai.
Audi has already appointed dealers in Mumbai and Delhi and has plans to open a new dealership in Bangalore. the company has managed to sell 10 A8 cars till March this year. Audi expects sales of almost 1000 cars in India in the next five years, and is basing its hopes on the Indian luxury sedan segment which is tipped to grow at 25 % per year.
