In a bid to counter the diesel ban in various parts of India, Toyota announced that Innova will be soon available with a petrol engine. Toyota has already started taking the bookings and the deliveries will start in August but there is no official word on the price of the car. The Innova Crysta will be powered by a 2.7-litre four cylinder engine that generates a maximum power of 160 Bhp with the option of manual and automatic transmissions.

Fiat Urban Cross

Fiat already has one crossover in the form of Avventura in the market. The Urban Cross will be based on Avventura but will look way better from the current model. The Urban Cross was showcased at Auto Expo 2016 and gets chrome cladding instead of black ones that are available with the Avventura. Also, the unusual boot mounted spare wheel now finds a space inside the car. Urban Cross will also get new, more premium interiors with touchscreen infotainment system and will be powered by the 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine. The same engine that is available with the performance models like Linea 125 S, Abarth Punto and Abarth Avventura, will make a maximum power of 140 PS along with 210 Nm of maximum torque.

Jeep

Jeep Wrangler

The Jeep brand will finally enter India with three models. The Wrangler Unlimited, Grand Cherokee and the Cherokee SRT. The Wrangler will be the cheapest one to be sold in India for around Rs. 60 lakh. The premium off-roader draws power from 2.8-litre four cylinder diesel engine the generates around 197 bhp along with 400 Nm of torque. The car will get a 5-speed automatic gearbox and will be able to reach a top speed of 175 km/h.

Jeep Grand Cherokee 2

Grand Cherokee is one of the most famous Jeep products in the world. It is also the flagship vehicle of Jeep and gets powered by a 3-litre V6 diesel engine that produces a maximum of 240 Bhp and 570 Nm of torque. The car off-roader gets an 8-speed automatic transmission and will have 4WD as standard. It will compete against the likes Mercedes-Benz GL-Class and will be priced around Rs. 70 lakh.

Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT 1

Cherokee SRT is the most powerful Jeep. The high-performance car carries a 6.4-litre supercharged petrol engine that develops 475 Bhp of maximum power. 8-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters and 4WD is standard in the SRT. Other features like launch control and track mode make it very special SUV.

The Jeep brand will be launched by the end of this year in India.

Tata Kite

Tata has been working to revamp its image. The latest car Tiago has become quite famous in the market. The sedan is based on the Tiago hatchback and is codenamed as Kite. Showcased at Auto Expo, the Kite will get same engine options as the Tiago. A 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol and 1.05-litre turbo diesel engines will do duties on the upcoming sedan. The Kite will also replace the ageing Indigo sedan and will be positioned below the Zest in the market. Tata will offer the 5-speed manual transmission as standard while an automatic transmission will be available as an option. The car is expected to be launched around the festive season.

This is the first ever time in the history when a crossover will feature the Jaguar moniker. The F-Pace was a huge crowd attraction during Auto Expo 2016. The car has been already been caught testing in India and will compete with the likes of Audi Q5, BMW X3 and Volvo XC60. The Jaguar F-Pace will be launched in three variants in India with an option of two diesel engines. The 2.0-litre turbocharged engine produces a maximum of 182 PS power and will be available with the base and the mid-level trim of the car. The top of the line R-Sport trim will get a very powerful 3.0-litre V6 turbocharged diesel engine that develops a maximum of 304 PS of power. The lower powered engine can do 0-100 in 8.7 seconds while the V6 engine can do the same in just 6.2 seconds.

Honda Accord

Honda will relaunch the Accord in India this year. The car was discontinued in 2013 due to poor demand. The new Accord will be launched in its hybrid avatar and will be nothing like the old Accord. Powered by 2.4-litre i-VTEC petrol engine and an electric motor, the new Accord gets combined power of 196 Bhp and 306 Nm of maximum torque. It is mated with a CVT gearbox and returns around 13-14 km to a litre. The new Accord will be launched in September this year and will compete with the likes of Toyota Camry Hybrid.

Volvo S90

The flagship sedan of Volvo is coming to India in September 2016. The car will replace the current S80 in India and will compete with the likes of BMW 5-Series and Jaguar XF. The car will be powered by D4 diesel that produces a maximum of 188 Bhp. Volvo may also bring in the 232 Bhp D5 version to the country. The S90 will be very competitively priced at around Rs. 60 lakh ex-showroom.

The car will be all wrapped in luxury similar to the one available with the XC90.

 

Audi A4

The new Audi A4 was showcased during the Auto Expo 2016. It follows the new design language of Audi family that is already seen on Audi Q7, TT and the R8. The A4 will feature the advanced virtual cockpit in the car. The new A4 will be launched with two engine options. The 2.0-litre TFSI petrol engine and the 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine generates the same power of 190 Bhp. The petrol will have a lower torque of 320 Nm while the diesel engine generates a maximum of 400 Nm torque. Both the engine options will get the 7-speed dual clutch transmission. The car will be launched in November this year and will compete with the BMW 3-Series, Jaguar XE and Mercedes-Benz C-Class.

Volvo XC90 Hybrid

There are a lot of complaints of being underpowered with the current XC90. Volvo is soon bringing in the XC90 Hybrid to resolve this issue. The T8 hybrid variant is powered by a 2.0-litre supercharged and turbocharged petrol engine that develops 320 bhp of maximum power. The electric motor produces 87 Bhp of maximum power. The combined power of the XC90 T8 hybrid is 407 Bhp. The luxury SUV can do 0-100 km/h in just 5.6 seconds. The power gets delivered to an all-wheel-drive system through an 8-Speed automatic transmission. The car can also run on pure electric mode for 41 km. The car will be launched at around Rs. 70 lakh ex-showroom.

This is a performance diesel car. Based on the Q7 SUV, the SQ7 will break all the performance barriers in the segment. The car gets powered by a 4-litre V8 engine with twin turbos that churns out a maximum power of 435 Bhp and an earth moving torque of 900 Nm. The car carries many changes like bigger wheels and badges to distinguish it from the Q7. The high-performance SUV can reach 100 km/h from 0 in just 5.5 seconds.
