Creta Facelift

The Creta recently received a facelift in the Brazilian market. The same facelift is expected to make its way to the Indian market as well. The company is also working on an all new Creta which will have 7 seats, but that is only expected in 2019.

Till then, we will have to make do with the facelift only. This one gets a new grill and a new front bumper which gives it a more macho look. There is a minor change in the rear tail lamp cluster as well.

All-new Verna

verna 1

The all new Verna is expected to be unveiled in 2017. The vehicle looks a lot more stylish than the outgoing vehicle with a flatter bonnet, new headlamps and a new bumper. The car continues to have the family look though up front. As for the back, the Verna looks all new with a split tail lamp unit. Overall, the vehicle looks a lot more sporty.

The company has lost a lot of market share to both the Ciaz and the City and this is what the company is betting on to bring that market share back. The company  is also expected to bring in a mild hybrid version of the Verna to take on the Ciaz when this facelift is introduced. Certainly interesting times ahead in this segment.

i20 based SUV

Hyundai Intrado based i20 SUV

Currently, the smallest SUV in Hyundai’s portfolio is the Creta. They are thus working on a SUV based on the i20 to take on the Brezza and the Ecosport. A few renders of this vehicle have already hit the interweb, and the SUV is said to be based on the Intrado concept, seen above.

Ioniq

It has been rumored that the company will be bringing in the Ioniq hybrid vehicle into the Indian market. The vehicle is a plug-in hybrid and is powered by a 1.6 liter petrol engine churning out 105 Bhp and 147 Nm. This is coupled with an electric motor which makes 60 Bhp.

The whole power unit is mated to a 6 speed dual clutch transmission. The Ioniq can either be had as a hybrid, a plug in hybrid or a full electric vehicle. We are not yet sure on which one the company plans to introduce in India though we are certainly very excited with the possibility that the company is considering to bring in this car to our market.
