In terms of design, the 2017 Compass goes upscale, and looks like a scaled-down version of the Grand Cherokee. It retains characteristic Jeep cues such as the 7 slat front grille and squared wheel arches. It’ll sit in between the Renegade and the Grand Cherokee in terms of positioning, serving as Jeep’s global volumes spinner.
It’ll sit on the US Small-Wide platform that’s used by the likes of the Fiat 500X and the Jeep Renegade. The platform sharing is expected to give Fiat-Chrysler significant cost savings, and that should translate into competitive prices for you, the buyer.
