Ford India launched the automatic version of the new Fiesta petrol sedan on February 28, 2012 at a price of Rs. 8.99 lakh for the Style variant and Rs. 9.73 lakh for the Titanium Plus variant.
The six-speed dual-clutch automatic is a very efficient automatic transmission, which has faster shift timings than even a manual gearbox and lesser power losses. It actually makes the automatic Fiesta a little faster in pick-up without compromising on fuel efficiency compared to its manual counterpart. The bad news is that the automatic transmission will be offered only on the 1.5-litre petrol variant of the Fiesta. Also see: Ford Fiesta AT road test
The Fiesta automatic makes the car more convenient to drive, while retaining the fun-to –drive factor. Interesting features of the Fiesta are similar to the manual variant, which include voice activated commands, cruise control, automatic climate control, power-folding mirrors and electronic power steering with pull-drift compensation technology – which keeps the car in a straight line under heavy crosswinds or roads with a crown.
