all three cars are extremely different in terms of performance. as an overall package, the polo seems the best. i’l give u a general overview – POLO – good engine but slightly unrefined as it is a 3cyl. very comfortable. neutral handling. spacious and enjoys an upmarket status. PUNTO 1.3 – excellent engine, great looks. very comfortable plus…[Read more]
thank u anupam bro
i heard that polo’s spareparts are very expensive and very delay to get….is it so??? and considering mileage and other maintenance which is the best???
Saurabh, they are mostly equal. Qualitywise, from what I hear, Polo is better. So parts are a bit more expensive, but usually you don’t need to replace anything. Punto – I believe parts are a bit cheaper, but you face very small occasional problems with plastics, bulbs etc. In practice, I don’t think you will find any noticeable difference. Mostly…[Read more]
If you have a good Service Centre near you, the Punto is a good choice. The spares are priced reasonably, the car is efficient and the engine is a gem. Buy 75 HP for city driving and 90 HP for Highway driving. VW spares could be expensive (some Rs 20,000 for an alloy wheel!) + no free services.
in my driving mostly cities running…hardly 2 or three longdrive(140kms up and down)
Both cars will do quite well for you. You have to test drive to be sure that you are happy with the power and comfort though. Like Siddhartha says, VW spares might be expensive but how often will you change an alloy wheel? For a careful driver, not even once in 5 years. I have been driving my car for 4 years now without replacing a single part anywhere.
Thank u sir….
Punto90hp is my choice…
great choice
One you get the car, do come and tell us about it
Ankit, have you tried the XUV500? Did you like it? Under 15 lakhs, you have three options – xuv, yeti and force one. If you like quality, then the decision is easy – Yeti. But it might be too small for you…
Like Mathew has pointed you can opt for either the XUV500, the Skoda Yeti or the Force One. Now while the XUV500 will offer you loads of features it is still a Mahindra and since you already own one you might consider opting for the Skoda Yeti. The Yeti is a very capable vehicle and is a class apart from the other two SUVs. If the Yeti’s small…[Read more]
Aha. Familiar dilemma. Being a Scorpio owner, I’ve often wondered which one I should pick next. The XUV500 is a logical choice, but once you’ve driven the Scorpio you may not want to stick with the same brand. The upcoming Safari Storme looks promising enough – picking the best from Aria & Safari. The Yeti, is a lot smaller, but very capable. Wait…[Read more]
The only vehicle which will allow you to move up a full class is Yeti. Quality is on a whole new level here. Yes, even better than the XUV500 based on reports we are hearing about the XUV500, which has some minor niggles. Future SUVs like the EcoSport and Duster wont probably satisfy you (like the Yeti) due to their small size but again will be…[Read more]
Thank you all for your inputs, however with TATA’s, i have always been a bit skeptical, technologically, they never surpassed my expectations, Yeti is something even I want for, however the service and spares makes my decision to take a backseat, duster is something which I’ve been waiting for as I drive for longer distances so quality and class…[Read more]
If you’re prepared to wait a little, book the XUV500 all-wheel drive variant (let M&M sort out the small issues first), since you are inclined towards a Mahindra anyway. However, if you want to play it safe and can wait a bit, we hear an improved Scorpio may come in early 2014!
We expected the Skoda Yeti petrol to be launched in April.. there are no hints of the launch such as no test mules spotted so far.. to decided whether to go for petrol or diesel, pls use the ‘Diesel decider’ tool on the left column in this page
The Yeti Petrol was expected to launch in April, but it seems like that is not going to happen. There is no new info about it. As far as choosing a petrol SUV is concerned it makes sense only if your daily driving is very low. Otherwise a petrol SUV will not fulfill your needs. If you share with us the options are you considering, you might get…[Read more]

well Tejas I am also in same situation, I like Brio as it got most powerful engine in this segment n it’s fun 2 drive car as I came 2 know about frm reviews.

I am assuming you are comparing the petrols as the diesels go well above 5L. Brio is undoubtedly the best car to drive, by a good margin at that. It has spacious interiors for its size but they are not as big as the other two on the list and the boot is the smallest too. Beat looks the part is has the most features, especially on the top end…[Read more]

Agree with Shreyans here. Ritz is the car which has everything – but Brio is best to drive, and Beat has more features. Overall winner has to be Ritz. but if power is important, its Brio.

Tough choice. Brio has the most power and best handling, but Ritz is an overall practical choice. Beat would probably be the most affordable of the lot – as in you could get a loaded LT variant instead of a mid-variant Ritz or Brio.

You will lose ur heart to the Brio, with that cute yet sharp design. The Ritz is safer but Beat is too cramped. I would go for the Brio, its a Honda and its quite sheek!

And I mean Ritz is safer as an option due to Maruti and their service network.
