Issue is in India the value of the car is also based on the resale of the vehicle..in which case Toyota rates higher..except for Honda city all other models of honda have lower resale. Also ingress or egress is a big issue in the civic if you plan to consider it as a family car…
Honda Civic owner here. If you like Hondas, then you won’t be happy with anything else
I would go only for the Accord.. maybe the future version.
The Accord may be a little above your budget. So if you’re looking for a car with similar characteristics but below Rs. 20 lakh – there are two choices – the Maruti Kizashi for sportiness or the Skoda Superb if you’re looking for space and comfort too.

Ahh both the Civic and Octavia are good option. However the Civic makes more sense as the Octavia is out of production now and Honda’s service is considered more reliable, at least in India.

The Civic seems a better choice. But as the car is kitted with CNG and because Civic never had the best low end torque anyway, the clutch must have been given a proper thrashing. Check for that. Replacement is expensive.

You can also check if a used Optra Magnum is available. Optra never had a good resale and you may find a good, sparingly used car for the kind of money you are willing to spend. That will be the best option if you ask me.

If fuel efficiency is not your concern, you try getting one of the older Corollas which are very reliable, spacious and easy on the pocket.
