We checked with Maruti, they have no plans for the cervo. They have a small car to replace the 800 with planned, but its a new car, not Cervo.
Maruti showcased some future cars it is thinking about for the Indian market at the Auto Expo. These included Pallete and MR Wagon, but not the Cervo.
Cervo not coming. Take a look at this though: http://www.cartoq.com/maruti-suzuki-to-replace-the-iconic-800-model-by-2012-end/
This is a difficult choice – because the ideal first car is always a Maruti – but the Eon is very tempting! I would go for the Eon – because it is more modern outside and inside, better features overall etc. Eon and Alto K10 are both good first cars, so to a large extent it is about which one you like instinctively. Have you driven both cars? Do…[Read more]
as babychen suggested test drive both cars before deciding. but i would suggest go for the alto k10. the k10 engine is a masterpiece plus the alto is the most rugged car u can buy. it will never go wrong and is a real pleasure to drive. the engine in the eon is not as refined as the k10 and the gear lever shakes while driving. as a first/small…[Read more]
yes I have test driven both. EON the riding comfort is less, engine not that powerful, bit noisy in cabin, bit of shake in gear.. pros are looks, interior, space & freebies…K10 has peppier engine, better ride, old looks, bit lesser height (I am 6 foot tall). Bit concerned about Hyundai maintenance, resale value, unproven new model etc.
Or is it safer to go for a second hand alto lxi and once the driving skills improve, look for a new one? (offers & price may vary then!) Also nano diesel may be on roads by then?
Maruti Suzuki Alto has some setbacks. The legs feel the pressure in the car as there is less legroom and there are no map pockets on the door side. Overall space is less and the AC takes too much of time to cool the ambience. http://goo.gl/6QeNM The gear box also is also a bit too noisy. However, there are more pros then cons which make Alto a…[Read more]
driving skills dont matter much, but if you want to buy a used car to be safe – and your taste in cars may also change when u have one – the alto is a good used car. Dont wait for the Nano diesel, as in the Nano petrol, the car may take a lot of time to improve. If you want to buy new, then as K10 has a space problem, you are left with Eon
Switch to Alto K10 for better performance. And try not to go for a second hand car.

Want to know which is best in terms of safety and fuel consumption also the overall of each car. So which do you prefer? Thank you in advance for those who will comment.
BTW this is the engine of i10 1.1L Epsilon I-4 SOHC and this is for EON 0.8L Epsilon MPI I-3 SOHC
The i10 is definitely better in terms of performance, space and quality. The Eon’s gearbox is quite shaky and the car does not drive as well as the i10. You can read our i10 road test and see the video here: http://www.cartoq.com/hyundai-i10-sportz-1-2l-kappa2-road-test/ You can also take a look at our Hyundai Eon Video here:…[Read more]
Thank you so much for answering my question. I want to learn more about the engine (expert advise). I know in India you got 1.2 kappa2 engine but here they discontinue it. What can you say about the 1.1L Epsilon I-4 SOHC in terms of power and fuel consumption. Whats the meaning of Epsilon and I-4 SOHC. Thank you in advance.
The 1.1 litre “Epsilon” engine is the older engine that Hyundai first introduced in India with the Santro (1086 cc) and the base variants of the i10. It has a single-overhead camshaft (SOHC), which operates three-valves per cylinder (2-intake and 1 exhaust). This engine is good for power and torque. It puts out about 67 bhp of power and 99 Nm of…[Read more]
Thanks Roshun for the inputs i really appreciate it. So at 1.1 engine i10 Epsilon I-4 SOHC is not a fuel saver car. Hmmm now I’m wondering if i should go for EON or Accent 1.4 MT.
Eon and Accent are completely different segments, aren’t they? The Eon is a 3-cylinder, 800 cc, hatchback, and the Accent is an entry-sedan (unless it’s the hatch variant sold there). Also in terms of fuel economy the Eon would be much better at about 18 kmpl in city conditions.
Yes accent here is a sedan 1.4 M/T, 1.4 A/T and 1.6 A/T all petrol but the hatch diesel version are coming this year. I will post my car once i got it so you have an idea what package we got here. Normally we only have 2 to 3 variants with a lot of freebies.
The normal package that we have here are Tinted Windows, Central lock, Seat cover, Matting, Touch Screen DVD- TV Tuner, Keyless Entry w/ Alarm, Rain Gutter or Rain Visor, 2-Eyes back up Sensor, Reverse camera with LCD mirror (night vision), Early Warning Device and a Car Cover. Some agents offer an additional two 5″ or 7″…[Read more]
Cleared a lot of my doubts. Thanks.

Take a look at our video here if you have time http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qz18tRdWEWM Also, here is our story comparing the Storme to the current Safari. The biggest difference is in the platform – it used the newer Aria platform. So theoretically, it will be stiffer and more solid, less body roll etc. of course to be really sure we have to drive it!

The Storme also has better interiors, a supposedly better performing ac and an easier gearbox when it comes to shifting effort.

Overall looks & profile won’t change in new safari!
