The petrol 1.2-litre Hyundai i20 gives about 12.5 kmpl in city traffic with AC.

That was indeed the old petrol i20′s figure. The new one with VTVT (variable valve timing), is probably better. Will wait for owner reports on that. Dzire VXi or i20 Magna depends on what exactly you’re looking for in the car. In terms of mileage, the Dzire is known to give around 13 kmpl.

All these 1.2 petrols give about 12.5-13 kmpl in city with AC, give or take 1kmpl.

One of my friends has the new i20 he told me he gets 13-14 kmpl.

How bad is the scratch? If it’s a light, superficial scratch, then a small dose of rubbing compound followed by a good wax polish will do the job. But if it’s deeper, try a touchup paint from ComPaint (cost is about Rs. 300 a can), and buff it with wax.

Abhinav! Its a new car so you may be getting a little too worried. Small scratches can be removed easily.ComPaint is the easiest solution, plus since your car is white it won’t be too difficult to hide the marks

Make sure you do a test patch before applying Com Paint. Its Noble Black shade did not match with the black of my Scorpio and the finish was different too. Try rubbing and wax; go for Com Pint only if that doesn’t work.

No plans for a diesel engine for the Jazz until 2014. In terms of overall space, power and handling if you compare the petrol variants the Jazz is better. However, if you want a car with plenty of features,the i20 has it all.

Reports have suggested that diesels will first make their way in the City and Civic with the Jazz following suit only later.
