10 in city n 12 on highway…..
12 kmpl overall.
Sai Hardys has the most accurate numbers. 10 in the city and 12 on the highway, though you could get around 13 on the highway if you keep your speeds below 100kpmh.
With my 2006 CRDe 4wd Scorpio, I get 10.78 (summer with AC) 11.2 kmpl (50% AC use) in the city and up to 12.9 kmpl on the highway. The M-Hawk is slightly more fuel efficient, with friends reporting 11.5 kmpl in city and upto 14 kmpl on the highway.
If you’re used to the handling and ride of an SUV you won’t really be comfortable going back to a sedan. And looking at the monthly running you have, you will be better off with another SUV only. If you’re looking for a little better ride and handling, and relatively more comfort you could consider the XUV500 – as you’re already a Mahindra…[Read more]
i would suggest u take a look at sedans as well. u may take time to get used to it but they offer lots of comfort and practicality plus u get more fuel efficiency due to slightly less weight adn u have lots of choice… u have 3 options – 1) cruze – looks great. amazing engine, very powerful. decent fuel efficiency, full of features, comfortable…[Read more]
Khalil, are you looking for comfortable driving in the city or on the highways? 5k km per month is pretty high usage and if you are logging that kind of miles in the city, you are better off with a nice intelligent diesel fuel efficient automatic sedan like the Laura. If most of your trips are on the highway, you could choose the visibility of the…[Read more]
usually i have highway driving due to my business i want more fuel effcient vehicel and more comfortable
then i would suggest go for a sedan. for your requirements i would say simply go for the Toyota Corolla Diesel. it will be the most fuel efficient car of its range and it has the most comfortable and plush ride quality. plus its will be the most reliable of all cars. it has high status as well which is important in business. it u want something…[Read more]
Khalil, you could take a look at the Laura or the XUV for your requirements. Both are very well built excellent vehicles and will not disappoint you.
Ankit, have you tried the XUV500? Did you like it? Under 15 lakhs, you have three options – xuv, yeti and force one. If you like quality, then the decision is easy – Yeti. But it might be too small for you…
Like Mathew has pointed you can opt for either the XUV500, the Skoda Yeti or the Force One. Now while the XUV500 will offer you loads of features it is still a Mahindra and since you already own one you might consider opting for the Skoda Yeti. The Yeti is a very capable vehicle and is a class apart from the other two SUVs. If the Yeti’s small…[Read more]
Aha. Familiar dilemma. Being a Scorpio owner, I’ve often wondered which one I should pick next. The XUV500 is a logical choice, but once you’ve driven the Scorpio you may not want to stick with the same brand. The upcoming Safari Storme looks promising enough – picking the best from Aria & Safari. The Yeti, is a lot smaller, but very capable. Wait…[Read more]
The only vehicle which will allow you to move up a full class is Yeti. Quality is on a whole new level here. Yes, even better than the XUV500 based on reports we are hearing about the XUV500, which has some minor niggles. Future SUVs like the EcoSport and Duster wont probably satisfy you (like the Yeti) due to their small size but again will be…[Read more]
Thank you all for your inputs, however with TATA’s, i have always been a bit skeptical, technologically, they never surpassed my expectations, Yeti is something even I want for, however the service and spares makes my decision to take a backseat, duster is something which I’ve been waiting for as I drive for longer distances so quality and class…[Read more]
If you’re prepared to wait a little, book the XUV500 all-wheel drive variant (let M&M sort out the small issues first), since you are inclined towards a Mahindra anyway. However, if you want to play it safe and can wait a bit, we hear an improved Scorpio may come in early 2014!

I would say Its worth a wait. (June is just 15 days away
) You can always go for Innova if you don’t like it.

The Duster is one of the most eagerly awaited launches and we’d recommend you wait for it and then decide.
