Do TATA after Launching The ARIA still think that only the changes they had done in TATA SAFARI STORM over TATA SAFARI will able to attract buyer's, can't they do something like the Mahindra has done with launching XUV 500 ...

    • well maybe that is why they haven’t launched it yet. Mechanically though the Storme is expected to be quite good.

    • Well, the Storme is more Aria than Safari and the Aria is definitely a better drive than the XUV over less than perfect roads. The biggest reason for the XUV’s success is that it instantly makes you go WOW. If Tata can manage something similar, that would be fantastic.

Are bookings for Mahindra XUV open? ...

    1 week, 3 days ago

    • No fresh bookings for the XUV are being taken. You can only go and register yourself in the “waiting” list and they’ll inform you when the next phase of bookings open. As for the AWD variant, they are still delivering the initial round of bookings from October! It will be a long wait. However, there are some unscrupulous middlemen who’ve started…[Read more]

Mahindra XUV500 W6 or Mahindra Xylo E9? Which one is better? ...

    3 weeks, 3 days ago

    • How many people will you be carrying? If it is more than five, then pick the Xylo. However, the XUV500 W6 drives and handles much better than the Xylo and has a better power and torque as well (140 bhp, compared to 120 bhp for Xylo E9). Being a monocoque design, the XUV is lighter and more fuel efficient too.

    • If you don’t need to carry more than 5 people then go for the XUV500, its better in every aspect.

  • Ajay Chadha asks…

Which would be the best comfortable and economical 7-seater diesel family vehicle among XUV 500 and Maruti Ertiga? When does the booking re-opens for XUV 500 and when do the bookings for the Ertiga Zdi start? ...

    • Ertiga bookings are open. You can test drive and book at any Maruti dealer. As for XUV, we hope the next window of bookings will be in the last week of May/first week of June. In terms of purchase price, the Ertiga is much lower than the XUV. However, in terms of power, space and features the XUV is much larger and offers more. If you are…[Read more]

    • Ajay just one statement for you at the price of one XUV500 you can buy two maruti Ertiga, so how do you think which is more economical? Also technically there is no match between the two.

    • Both ertiga and XUV500 have rear seats with barely enough legroom. Both are not perfect 7 seaters in that sense. XUV500 has a bit more, but not much. When you compare the two, the Ertiga wins due to its much lower price and Maruti reliability.

    • If you are looking for a vehicle to seat 7 comfortably, there are really only 3 options under 20lakh: Xylo, Innova and Aria. Innova, well, everyone knows everything good about it. But in its current avatar, I feel it is overpriced by a couple of lakhs, Toyota badge and bulletproof reliability notwithstanding. The Aria is available at discounts…[Read more]

    • You are looking for an affordable, value for money MPV and the Ertiga was built to serve this very purpose. It may not have the XUV500′s looks and road presence but if you drive one you will clearly notice the difference between the two. The Ertiga is much more car like and easy to drive. I don’t think you would actually transport 7 people over…[Read more]

    • I think Ertiga wins over XUV 500, Innova and ARIA both in terms of money, fuel economy and after sale service.

    • Ertiga is very small compared to xuv, innova and aria. Ertiga is for a hatchback and sedan upgrader under budget not for a suv user at all.

    • Some of us had outlined a few problems on CarToq, in answer to a similar question. There are minor electrical niggles with the XUV, such as music system issues, some functions like cruise control in some not working, issue with immobilizer, and one case of a clutch problem. Mahindra is new to this kind of vehicle and technology, so my advice is to…[Read more]

    • We discussed this here just 2 days back. There are some problems with the XUV500. Electrical mostly. See that discussion here http://www.cartoq.com/questions/sir-i-had-booked-mahindra-xuv-500-in/ As Roshun says, if you want no headaches at all, wait a bit :)

    • I d advise you to wait for another year/the refreshed XUV whichever happens earlier from M&M before you sign the dotted line. There is nothing majorly wrong with its core mechanical components of it but its niggles need to be rectified by M&M.
