This is interesting. Bookings for the Ertiga had hit 22,000 within 10 days of launch and are now significantly higher. Most of the bookings were for the top-end diesel model. Will get back to you on the exact scenario, after a chat with Maruti.

When we drove the Ertiga it was early April where ambient temperatures were around 30 degrees only. The AC seemed good enough. The additional roof blower for the rear increased its reach fairly efficiently. Not sure how it would be in peak summer though.

Kanav the Hyundai Verna is a reliable sedan with loads of features, though its rear seats aren’t very comfortable for long jounreys. The Ertiga is a value for money package and makes sense if you need the flexibility of having a seven seater. Now we are hearing that it will be launched only in 2013. Nothing official though. The car is under testing in India. Normally, they should try for a Diwali launch to capitalise on the festival sales.
