The Micra is slightly more driveable and maneuverable in city. Otherwise, the i20 beats it anywhere and everywhere. This difference is most pronounced on the top variants. The Asta(o) has more power, more performance, more features, is safer with 6 airbags and is as fuel efficient as the XV Premium. Pick the Hyundai.
And more space. When you compare top end variants, i20 wins easily.
They are both selling well in just petrol.. I have not heard anything at all about diesel variants of both.
There is no confirmed news of this. At the moment Maruti only has one diesel engine – the 1.3 multijet diesel in 75 bhp and 90 bhp form with a capacity of 4 lakh units annually that it’s struggling to meet across its range of cars. There was news that it is planning a 3-cylinder 1-litre engine based on the same unit, like GM’s Beat, which may go…[Read more]
No there is no such news and with diesel de-regulation etc it is very unlikely for the time being.
Through sources i came to know that maruti is working on a 1 Litre diesel engine for its hatchbacks. The research and development is going on in the gurgaon plant.
The Aria is way to big to be a CS. Just the bonnet seems to be a good 2 meters long :p As far as the Manza Marina goes, every estate car launched in India has been a sales dud. I dont see this trend changing. Btw, a Manza CS is in the making.
second you on the fate of estate cars so far. but i strongly feel tata should make a compact SUV. at least from their old sierra.
Manza CS is 1 to look out for. they should integrate boot with rear and give it an integrated look… like chevrolet did with their SRV few years ago..
@Zeeti Gugal, the success of Indigo CS and new compact Dzire hints that people buy cars with stubby boot, hence Manza CS will likely be successful if it comes with a stubby boot instead of SRV type body ..
and any high maintenance charges ???
Skoda sucks on the maintenance part The service and parts cost are too high
We once asked Skoda owners on CarToq what they thought about Skoda service, and 60 % of them were quite happy with it. Also, remember that it is actually a Volkswagen Vento underneath! So quality is expected to be quite good. Skoda parts are a bit expensive I have heard, but also heard that rapid / Vento parts are not going to have any replacement…[Read more]
ty for your fast reply , i just had a talk with a skoda person he says that maintenance is not much because earlier car parts were imported and all that but this skoda rapid has a plant in PUNE itself so maintenance have really come down , and this car is specially launched in india only what do you guys think for it ?
The Rapid is a good bet overall. Service intervals are once in 15,000 km, so don’t worry too much about it. Service costs will be about Rs. 7000 per service.
ty sir but is skoda rapid worth in petrol ??
Honda City the best buy in Petrol
If you are looking for Petrol then there are other very Good options available my first two picks are 1. Linea T-Jet : Just drive it once and feel the Turbo charged Petrol Motor. 2. Honda City : Always trusted i-Vtec. All the reviews about Vento/Rapid Petrol says that it is sluggish engine. So choice is yours. all the best

well maybe that is why they haven’t launched it yet. Mechanically though the Storme is expected to be quite good.

Well, the Storme is more Aria than Safari and the Aria is definitely a better drive than the XUV over less than perfect roads. The biggest reason for the XUV’s success is that it instantly makes you go WOW. If Tata can manage something similar, that would be fantastic.
