    • All diesel versions

    • In real world conditions, I believe it is the Swift Dzire. Claimed mileages might be different, but the new Swift Dzire is even lighter than the old one. The diesel engine of the Dzire is also probably the most reliable and hassle free diesel engine in India. On highway, however, the Verna both 1.4 and 1.6 with its six gears is likely to match or…[Read more]

    • The Swift Dzire, by virtue of being the lightest of them all. However, on the highway, if you exceed speeds of 100kmph on the Dzire, the fuel efficiency drops to second sport behind the Fiesta.

  • Devraj Maulick asks…

With the Renault Duster almost ready for launch and the Ford Ecosport launch delayed to 2013 and Premier Rio launched, so is it worth spending 8 to 9 lakhs on a compact SUV which is a completely new segment in the Indian automobile Industry or rather one should go for conventional sedans like the City, Verna and Fiesta and also can opt for the Manza. Whats the Verdict? ...

    • I believe in India, if an SUV and a sedan (same number of seats) are priced similarly, people would go for the SUV more than the sedan. Mostly because SUVs and their tall stance is more practical on bad roads, and secondly because SUVs may have quite a bit of boot space in the back. And SUV is more macho etc. sedans are considered more classy, so…[Read more]

    • But sir dont you think SUV needs more maintenance as compared to sedans and the cost of the spares and parts of the SUV’s are costlier than the sedans.

    • thats exactly what these companies are trying to improve. by making these compact SUV’s they are just making a sedan more practical by making it taller and better ground clearance. in case of humdrum SUVs the spares/maintenance expense holds true but by making these mini versions simpler and smaller they are keeping all costs low. because they…[Read more]

  • With plenty of options out there, it is a bit difficult for buyers to choose the right car when it comes to interior space. If you are looking for a spacious sedan under Rs. 8 lakh look no further. CarToq has picked the top three most spacious diesel sedans in the price range for you! ...

Why TATA is not doing ARIA CS (under 4m) or Indigo Manza Marina ? ...

    2 weeks, 3 days ago

    • The Aria is way to big to be a CS. Just the bonnet seems to be a good 2 meters long :p As far as the Manza Marina goes, every estate car launched in India has been a sales dud. I dont see this trend changing. Btw, a Manza CS is in the making.

    • second you on the fate of estate cars so far. but i strongly feel tata should make a compact SUV. at least from their old sierra.

    • Manza CS is 1 to look out for. they should integrate boot with rear and give it an integrated look… like chevrolet did with their SRV few years ago..

    • @Zeeti Gugal, the success of Indigo CS and new compact Dzire hints that people buy cars with stubby boot, hence Manza CS will likely be successful if it comes with a stubby boot instead of SRV type body ..
