Looking for interior comforts, better ride quality, less body roll and less maintenance cost with high reliability. Which one would be better between the Tata Safari Storme and Mahindra XUV500?

U cannot get this all in either of ur choices!!! Overall…the ride quality and lower body roll is evident with the safari storme…maintenance may be the same as expensive with both the products!!! Both have good front row comforts..Xuv has the better one…
The best 2nd row comfort is in the Safari Strome….
in the 3rd row..XUV has very less…[Read more]

Interior Comforts: XUV (or Aria). better ride quality: Storme (or Aria). Less body roll: almost same. Less maintenance cost with high reliability: too early to predict.

Has anyone here booked the Tata Safari Storme? I am a person who genuinely needs an SUV for its 4WD ability, period. I can't understand the logic behind launching the Safari Storme with the 4WD option available only on the top end version, this means that you have to shell out a good Rs.4 lakh more if you want a 'genuine' SUV.

Andrea, it’s not that everyone who buys an SUV wants it for its 4×4 ability. If that were the case, the Thars and Gypsys would be bestsellers. People would usually go for an SUV for it’s image, for it’s ground clearance, for it’s ability to swallow >5 people and loads of luggage. Very few will actually buy a 10+ lac SUV and abuse it offroad. Which…[Read more]

I get your point Andrea. It has been the same with automatics-till recently found only in the top-end variants. Thankfully, Honda and Ford have changed that. And hopefully, SUV makers too would realize that there are people who want 4X4 capability rather than all the gizmos they add. But for now, we are all stuck with SUVs that offer 4X4 only in…[Read more]

i dont think you need a 4×4 specific safari for adventoures since the normal 4×2 is capable enough for some rough terrain as well. there is enough power to go off the road :)

^^ @ Devraj – Having a powerful engine alone does not help u anyway. It will only help you dig down with wheel spin and finally getting stuck. Example on Desert terrain, Mud, slippery incline etc. I think all 4×2 ‘s as MUVs ,How many agree with me??its only a 4×4 with which u can conquer different terrains.

^^ Precisely why I opted for a Scorpio 4×4 back in 2006, even though I go off-road only once in 3 months or so – it has served me really well these past seven years, and the 4×4 was absolutely useful so many times. I agree, with Arjoon, a proper SUV is one that is 4×4.

Planning to buy an SUV, my yearly running won't go over 8-9K kms. I am from Punjab, where petrol cars are like dinosaurs. Even if I choose one, I would be the odd one out. So I guess I will go for a diesel only. My maximum budget is 15lakh. I have a family of 5 and want a comfortable ride over bad roads, long drives and hilly roads. Handling should also be good. What would your suggest?I am confus -- more --

Bro XUX W8 varient is best, Storme comes after & Duster comes when u only want Handling & fuel economy.
At the end as u said u wanna but it before December then i am afraid that u will get XUV and Duster because of long waiting period. I booked my Duster after 2 days of launch in july at Amritsar & still waiting. Storm Could be available to u in…[Read more]

For five people, I wouldn’t recommend the Duster – it’s too cramped. Safari Storme or XUV500 W8 would be your best choices here. But for ride quality and handling, the Duster is better.

Safari Storme VX will be the best for five people family with enormous boot space and comfort also solid built quality. I don’t know why people compare Duster with Safari it just like comparing a overgrown kids with an adult even it doesn’t a qualify for term SUV.
