Autocar India has a Passat as a long termer. In the March issue, they did a story wherein they reported a blown alternator, which cost around 50k to replace. Replacement itself took almost a month as the alternator had to be imported from Germany. Otherwise, they say they are really happy with the big VW. passat is no longer available in petrol. but the diesel engine too is simply amazing. powerful and fuel efficient and kickass features. the accord v6 is crazy fast almost 240 bhp. its amazing. lots f space, comfortable and has presence. but lacks features. and doesn’t handle lik the vw. the passat wil definitely be more fun to drive on twisty…[Read more]
