    • go for polo if u can maintain it otherwise go for etios. vw is costly as compared to features and engine option.main concern should be ground clearence. on paper its ok but in pratical your car will be touched almost every time if u dont slow it down rather i should say almost stop it….

    • If you want a spacious car with decent performance, high mileage, low maintenance costs and reliability, go for the Liva. If you want a car with solid built quality especially on the interiors, great fit & finish and comfortable seats, go for the Polo.

    • the polo is definitely more expensive to buy and maintain, but is an extremely good car. the quality, looks, interior fit and finish and material quality is a lot better than liva. the engine also is more powerful. plus image of the polo is much better. but the liva is quite spacious, easier to drive and much more practical in terms of costs and…[Read more]

    • If the relative lack of space and higher service and maintenance costs are not much of a concern, go for the Polo.

    • Between the three you speak of, the Swift is the safest choice and also has the best engine. However, some reviews have pointed out some issues in the braking of the non ZXI / ZDI versions.

    • swift and i20 are not premium segment… polo, jazz and fabia are premium segment… if u travel a lot and require a boot and safety features.. go fr jazz, else go fr polo or fabia… practically both are same cars with just different bodies

    • The Jazz is a bit expensive as compared to the mid variants of the cars you have listed. But if you can stretch your budget, nothing like it. I dont find the Polo Comfortline worth the extra 50k VW charges over the base model. I’d rather buy the Trendline and have the door handles and mirrors painted at the dealer if I cant go for the Highline.…[Read more]

    • the best choice would be the swift for a number of reasons – 1) best engine in its class. 2) extremely fun to drive, great handling. 3) fuel efficient. 4) cheapest to buy among your other choices. 4) hassle free service from maruti. 5) cheapest to maintain. the other two are good but quite a lot more expensive. the new i20 is very spacious and…[Read more]

    • The Liva is unbeatable when it comes to space. Polo is a good car to drive with ‘premium’ looks and comes with that VW badge. Other choices include Brio, Swift, Ritz, Beat and i20. It depends on how you plan to use the car, how many ppl you regularly seat, the daily running and the kind of roads you drive on. More details will help us suggest better.

    • Polo is a good quality car, with nice interiors and class. Liva as Shreyans says is all about lots of space. Interiors are pretty basic. If you are tall, you may prefer the Liva due to the extra space.

    • if u want rzor blade handling and premium looks then polo… Brio is also gud infact better than polo in handling…not as premium as polo… LIVA has space but power is toned down from the superb etios petrol engine… i20 ans swift petrol engines r good… i20 especially comes with a lot of gizmos… Swift is the most proen and reliable of the…[Read more]

    • Rajeev the Polo is much more suave and fit and finish is much better than in the Liva. The Liva may offer a lot of space but it seems a little stripped down and bare basic. The Brio is also an interesting option, test drive all three and you will realize that each vehicle has its own strength and weaknesses. While the Polo offers class and the…[Read more]

    • all three cars are extremely different in terms of performance. as an overall package, the polo seems the best. i’l give u a general overview – POLO – good engine but slightly unrefined as it is a 3cyl. very comfortable. neutral handling. spacious and enjoys an upmarket status. PUNTO 1.3 – excellent engine, great looks. very comfortable plus…[Read more]

    • Saurabh, they are mostly equal. Qualitywise, from what I hear, Polo is better. So parts are a bit more expensive, but usually you don’t need to replace anything. Punto – I believe parts are a bit cheaper, but you face very small occasional problems with plastics, bulbs etc. In practice, I don’t think you will find any noticeable difference. Mostly…[Read more]

    • If you have a good Service Centre near you, the Punto is a good choice. The spares are priced reasonably, the car is efficient and the engine is a gem. Buy 75 HP for city driving and 90 HP for Highway driving. VW spares could be expensive (some Rs 20,000 for an alloy wheel!) + no free services.

    • Both cars will do quite well for you. You have to test drive to be sure that you are happy with the power and comfort though. Like Siddhartha says, VW spares might be expensive but how often will you change an alloy wheel? For a careful driver, not even once in 5 years. I have been driving my car for 4 years now without replacing a single part anywhere.

    • The i20 is new, fresh, has more features and is a great package overall. However the Polo still is a solidly built car. I would suggest you go for the i20 if you are looking for a feature rich, spacious and easy to maintain vehicle. If you want a solid car and want the VW brand name then opt for the Polo, it’s still a practical no frills car.
