Spy photos of the next generation Hyundai Santa Fe have surfaced the Internet. The Santa Fe now gets the ‘fluidic design’ language that Hyundai adopts in all models such as the i10 and the Verna.
The Santa Fe gets a fluidic design like the ix45. The headlamps are angular and give it a sharp look. The front hexagonal grille has plenty of chrome, a trend almost all new SUVs are adopting like that of the recently launched 2012 Toyota Fortuner or the Ford EcoSport concept. The fog lamps appear to have day time running LED lamps in them.
The rear has a chunky bumper that is offset by a different colour to the body. The LED tail lamps slightly resemble the BMW X5. The tailgate structure is simple yet elegant. The roof spoiler and chrome tipped twin exhausts give a sporty appeal to the new Santa Fe.
Engine and Performance
There are no details regarding the engine specifications of the upcoming Santa Fe. The current model is powered by the 2.2 litre CRDi diesel engine that makes 195 bhp of power and 420 Nm of torque. The ARAI-certified mileage is 14.66 kmpl for the manual version and 11.72 kmpl for the automatic variant.
We expect the upcoming Santa Fe to be launched by 2012 end or in 2013. Till then, the present model will continue to sell in the Indian market.
