Hyundai India rolls out 7 millionth car

7 million is a huge number and Hyundai Motors rolled out a white Hyundai Creta in top variant as the 7 millionth car from their production line in Sriperumpudur near Chennai. Hyundai India reached this milestone in 18 years of its operation in India and it is a record time for a manufacturer in India.

Hyundai India plans to roll out the 10 millionth car out of its assembly by 2021. The South Korean company reached the feat of million car in 2006 with the Hyundai Santro. The 5 millionth car was rolled out in 2013.

Hyundai Motor India is the second largest car manufacturer in India after Maruti Suzuki. The company the largest exporter of passenger vehicles in India. Their plant near Chennai currently produces Eon, i10, Grand i10, Elite i20, Active i20, Xcent, Verna, Creta, Elantra, Tucson and Santa Fe. Hyundai India many models to the European countries, African countries, Australia and other Asian countries.

The manufacturer currently exports to over 92 countries and the manufacturer has remained on the top spot for exporting passenger cars since last 10 years. The manufacturer has currently 466 dealers across India and 1,159 service points across India. The company also has a modern R&D facility in Hyderabad which is working with Kia to study the market for the Hyundai’s subsidiary.

Incidentally, Hyundai’s sub-brand, Kia is exploring the Indian market and looking for opportunities to set-up a new facility in India to bring in affordable cars for budget conscious customers.
