Lamborghini launches Aventador S in India

Lamborghini India added one more vehicle to their portfolio. The latest launch comes in the form of the newly unveiled Aventador S LP 740-4. The sports couple car is priced at Rs. 5.01 crore (ex-showroom, India). The  Aventador S is the more powerful version of the Aventador and comes with many changes.

The Aventador S arrives in India only after a couple of months of global unveiling of the vehicle, which shows the aggressive stance carmaker has taken for the Indian market. The sportier version of the Aventador comes with a new design, sharper styling, tweaked aerodynamics and retuned V12 engine.

Lamborghini powers the car with a 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine that churns out a maximum of 730 BHP at 8,400 rpm and the torque peaks at 690 Nm at 5,500 rpm. The engine comes with a 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission that sends power to all the four wheels. The engine produces 40 BHP more power than the regular Aventador that allows the vehicle to reach 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds from zero.The car can reach a top speed of 350 km/h. Lamborghini also says that the sports car can stop in just 30 metres from 100 km/h, thanks to the carbon ceramic brakes.

The Aventador S comes in a carbon fibre monocoque chassis. The engine bonnet, rear air inlets and spoiler are also made of carbon fibre to reduce maximum weight. The spoiler is electronically controlled and has three predefined positions to maximise the downforce. The vehicle also gets vertical fins like the SV variants of the Lamborghini vehicles that reduce the drag. The car runs on new multi-spoke wheels that get a cover of Pirelli P Zero tyres, that improves the steering feedback, improves the traction and also increases the braking efficiency of the vehicle.
