Maruti launches a special edition Alto with a twist

Maruti is India’s largest car manufacturer. The company frequently unveils special editions of its popular cars to give customers something to look forward to. In a bid to do just that, the company has introduced a new special edition version of their popular Alto. The special edition is inspired by MS Dhoni and also marks the association of the company with the cricketer’s upcoming movie, ‘MS Dhoni- The Untold Story’.

What’s new?

This special edition will be available in both the Alto (Lxi trim) and the Alto K10 (Lxi, Vxi trim). It will get new MS Dhoni signature decals and body graphics, MS Dhoni #7 seat covers, a 1-Din MP3 system with USB, AUX and speakers (only applicable to the Alto 800).

In addition to all this, it will also get rear parking sensors with a graphic bar display. It will also get premium mats, a new steering wheel cover, a new spoiler, interiors styled in carbon colour, ambient lighting, a door sill guard and a MS Dhoni inspired Merchandise kit.

It will be offered in a choice of two colour interior combinations (black + silver or red + blue). The special edition will be available across dealerships from the first week of October. Price rise for these variants are : Rs 16,777 for the Alto 800 (Rs 3.36 lakhs now) and Rs 12,777 for the Alto K10 ( Lxi for Rs 3.54 lakhs  & Vxi for Rs 3.71 lakhs).

The reason for the association of the company with MS Dhoni is the fact that the cricketer has massive fan following and popularity, something that the Alto shares as well. On the association, Mr. R S Kalsi, Executive Director, Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki said,

MS Dhoni with his determination, successful leadership and hard work has achieved iconic stature. Maruti Suzuki Alto too is India’s most loved car and an icon amongst automobiles. Alto appeals to customers for its design, performance, high fuel efficiency and affordable cost. Alto and MS Dhoni share great synergy for their unique qualities. This association will help to connect Alto even stronger with the customers.

As a part of this association, Maruti is also running a social media contest that invites Twitter and Facebook followers to tell their untold story in 7 words. The winner of the contest, #DrivenbyPassion will get an exclusive chance to meet the cricketer and the cast of the movie in Delhi.
