Maruti Suzuki Ritz face lift: Official Images

Official images of the Ritz facelift have been revealed. The Ritz facelift found on Suzuki’s Japanese website is the same Ritz that was spotted testing in India. Now, let’s see the changes in terms of styling on the new Ritz.

New front

The Ritz facelift comes with a redesigned sporty radiator grille and clamshell bonnet that accentuates the width of the otherwise tallboy design of the Ritz. The headlamp cluster of the Ritz facelift gets minor changes and looks sharper than that of the current Ritz. The new fog lamp housing adds character to the car’s front.

Mildly refreshed rear

The rear of the Ritz, which has been criticized by many people for its awkward styling, sadly continues in the Ritz facelift as well. The boomerang-shaped tail lamp cluster and the boot door remain unchanged. The only noticeable change lies in the bumper which now gets fake air-vents which makes the car look wider than it actually is.

It is yet to be known whether there are any changes in the interiors of the new Ritz when compared to the present model.

Expected performance

The upcoming Ritz is expected to get the new 1.2-litre K-series VVT petrol motor and the 1.3-litre DDiS diesel motor from the new Swift. The 1.2-litre petrol engine in the new Swift puts out 86 Bhp of power and has an ARAI-certified mileage of 18.6 Kmpl. The 1.3-litre diesel motor of the new Swift puts out 74 Bhp of power and has an ARAI-certified mileage of 22.9 Kmpl. Expect similar fuel efficiency figures for the new Ritz too.

Expected launch period

The new Ritz may hit the showrooms in the next couple of months. Expect a marginal price hike owing to the cosmetic changes made in the Ritz facelift. At present, the Ritz is priced between Rs. 4.16 lakh and Rs. 5.73 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.
