Maruti Suzuki has launched yet another special edition variant of the Zen Estilo hatchback called the Zen Estilo Edge Special Edition at a price of Rs. 3.60 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The special edition will be available in only one trim level, Zen Estilo Lxi Edge.
The Zen Estilo Edge has several new features including 2 Din Radio, MP3 audio with 2 speakers, auxiliary and USP ports, Bluetooth handsfree system, front fog lamps, rear spoiler, body-coloured outside mirrors and door handles, full wheel cover, new body graphics, leartherrite seat cover and a central locking system.
Estlio sales and competition: the Hyundai i10 Era
Maruti Suzuki Estilo has been selling consistently at around 3,500 units every month. The company hopes that the launch of the Estilo Edge will help boost sales further though in the short run. In fact, it is clear from the brochure that leaked on the Internet that Maruti is pitting the Estilo Edge against the Hyundai i10 Era model. Also read: New Hyundai i10 road test
In the brochure, Maruti has compared the Estilo Edge with the i10 Era, highlighting upon the former’s new features and ‘value for money’ aspects. It must be noted that the Hyundai i10 Era is priced at Rs. 3.80 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) which is Rs. 20,000 more than Maruti Suzuki Estilo Edge.
The Estilo Edge is powered by the 998 cc, K-Series engine that also powers the Maruti Suzuki WagonR, A-Star and Alto K10. This petrol engine produces 67 bhp of maximum power at 6,200 rpm and a maximum torque of 90 Nm at 3,500 rpm. Maruti Suzuki claims that the Estilo Edge returns a mileage of 19 km/litre – 2 litres more than Hyundai’s claimed mileage of 17 kmpl for the i10 Era.
Maruti Suzuki sells Estilo in 4 different trim levels. The Estilo Lx is priced at Rs. 3.26 lakh, the Lxi Rs. 3.56 lakh, the Vxi Rs. 3.83 lakh and the newly launched Lxi Edge Limited Edition has a price tag of Rs. 3.60 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.
