Iconic car. But it will work in a very small niche. Doesn’t work with the Indian mindset. Same reason the Fiat 500 failed here. Even the beautiful beetle couldn’t make a dent at 25lacs. So this will be a far cry at this price. The VM Beetle stood a better chance..but it still couldn’t make it.

Not doubt its a iconic car, but sadly most of the people here will have to satisfied with photos and glims of the car :-(

It will be very difficult to spot these cars on Indian roads as there will be very few buyers who can afford it. These will go unnoticed just as the FIAT 500 and The VW Beetle.

These kind of cars are not meant to be huge hit or appeal to masses. A very similar situation like VW beetle or Fiat 500. However, the reason could be to just see how the market reacts and at the same time to increase the product ranges of the company. The recent updated news is Mini and BMW are not going to be under the same tree which means Mini…[Read more]

Best value for money: new Swift ZDi, Polo 1.2 Highline or i20 Asta?

Maruti has finally launched a top-end variant for its diesel Swift. Apart from other variants, the Swift ZDi was also unveiled today. How does it compare with top-end diesel variants from Polo and i20?

with such good looks, performance, low maintainance and always advisable features, swift must add all those features what are in i20 with this much price.

Hi Friend I know they have made mistake by mentioning two different things for i20 Asta Gears but fact is that Hyundai has transformed i20 diesel from 6 gears to 5 gears and reduction in price almost 15000 ex. showroom so now it comes with 5 speed gears. I know because I book the last available model for 6 speed i20.

The main reason behind this move is New Verna in which all diesel models having 6 gears so they are facing shortage of gears and other big factor is verna 1.4 diesel which is facing stiff competition from i20 because i20 asta provides more features then Verna 1.4 so to save verna 1.4 diesel they took this step. Now from this months production all…[Read more]

@ Jignesh , @ Hrishi Thanks for pointing that out. It was a typo. The present i20 diesel comes with a 6-speed manual transmission. We’ve also heard about an i20 diesel with a 5-speed box, but we’ll let you know for sure soon, once we confirm this development.

i20 has Shockers problem, not made for Indian Roads, It need frequent Shockers repair, costing 15-20k, Secondly there is Turbolag in it even after 2000 rpm where comparatively Swift performs the Best among 3. Swift is a premium hatchback truely for Indian Roads whereas i20 is more suitable for European roads, VW is a sure waste of money.
