Ashish, the XUV top model bookings have stopped. Too much demand, they were not prepared to make so many of them. dwsAuto will get the XUV on Friday or so, but it will be the 2wd top end version, not 4wd

Petrol Variant? Fuel efficient? then you can buy K-series Engine fitted car which includes A-star,Alto K10,Wagon R,Estilo and the engine is very reliable combining both power and mileage,so if you still want better FE,Alto-K10 or A-star is good cars and fun to drive with peppier engine

pankaj DONT GO 4R PETROL BEAT as my frd owns one its gives an avg fe of jus 9 -10kms only in city better to go 4r cars equipped wid either k-series engines as vishwas said or u may also check kappa eng cars like da i10,20 …as i personally own altok10 it gives me 14 kms in city n 18 on highway …
Go for the Honda brio if u want a petrol… The bookings are open and it ll b launched in a week..
the most fuel efficent petrol Cars are Alto k10, A-Star and Hundai Eon.Apart from that I own a maruti 800 AC (5speed) which gives a milage of 26kmpl on highway.
a-star is good in milage city 19kmpl in highway 22

My WaronR-Duo gave me Rs.1 per Kilometer maintainence cost, till now 111000Km runned.Maintained at Maruti service centre only,have proof with Invoice.
Beauty of petrol cars is that service or no service, they just “Chalta Hey”.. Castrol GTX @ Rs. 280 ltr and local made engine oil filter @ Rs. 80-200.. Good enough every 5000 to 6000 kms

Tata Nano is the cheapest and also worst for a resale. YOu will have to just scrap it after 5 years.
Alto K10, A-Star, Wagon R and Estilo share the K series engine. Do they share the same maintenance factor? How true is that?

Still, No substitute for alto k10.. One can’t compromise on mileage as well as performance.. The pocket rocket still wins..
True K10 engine is very powerful along with it…There is no Substitute to it…it’s torque and BHP is very rational compared to other car’s of this Segment…

?@Maninder: yes u ppl are right.. alto K10 is having grt engine pls note oly engine.. but the problem is low ground clearance, cheap interior, hard in and out makes chevy spark takes lead along with DDLI engine and zero maintenance cast ….!
@Sathya Narayan,The DDLI you mentioned is a diesel engine or the petrol one??.Alto K10 is in market for good engine and mileage performance for low budget customers who look forward to have a good engine so it is made to keep the costs low and that too the interior quality are enough.

Buying a first small car in india is more of an emotional matter.. Here Maruti fit’s well in our hearts..Though spark has better comfort, interiors.. It’s what the running cost per km as well as availability of spare parts and service network, decide the game..Lastly, i’m very much impressed with the performance and economy of k10′s engine..
