Firstly buying a diesel car would be a very wise choice, if you can spare the money If you are choosing between CNG and LPG choose on the basis of pumps. If LPG is readily available in your city then go for LPG otherwise opt for CNG. (CNG is safer )If you put CNG in your existing car it will work out to be very economical and with the rising…[Read more]
@Rishabh P Nair…Thanx buddy. Buying a new car wud mean shelling out 4 to 5 lacs ..where else CNG kit wud cost me 30K…so very economical n best…what say?
lpg is liqufied so is under much less pressure than cng which is compressed. anything compressed is under much larger pressure, i.e.heavier n larger tank.
with 2000kms a month i recovered the cost of my kit in less than 3-4 months!!!
@Carl Mistry..LPG is liquified..true but it seems CNG is lighter than air..and vanishes quickly than LPG. LPG forms lumps in the tank which is very dangerous. 2ndly..there is lot of difference int he average of LPG and CNG. CNG gives better average than LPG.
lpg is SAFER, rest is upto u
It is possible to put CNG for Swift…. If you ask if it is worth, I would say, it depends on the availability of CNG in your region and the number of years u r planning to keep the car. For instance, cost of CNG kit comes around Rs. 60,000 and assume u drive your car for 2000 km per month and keeping the average of Swift running in CNG as 13…[Read more]
Thanx Aravind Anbu, but my car is 2006 model and I have hardly driven it for 29000 Kms till now. My running is not that much..but due to my recent bike accident, my family is against me riding a bike, so everything comes down to my car which is petrol version. Looking at the recent cost of petrol in mumbai which is 71.62/-..it really burns a hole…[Read more]
Hemant Sawant, sorry for the late reply. as per your calculations, you save Rs. 47,705 in the first year by running in CNG alone (instead of petrol) and you will recover the cost of fitting the CNG kit (Rs. 60,000 approx) within 1.5 years of installing the CNG kit. Hope, now you can decide…
Aravind Anbu, Thanx for the input. Im sure that will help me a lot to decide on it. Another thing, what bout diesel? I asked u bout it, how bout buying a whole new diesel car. Is that worth it? Another thing Aravind..does CNG spoil ur engine? Does running the car on CNG and petrol affect the engine in newayz? Performance wise, mileage, engine condition.
Hemant – this article from the site will give you some idea about CNG/LPG – http://www.cartoq.com/going-green-and-cheap-should-you-pick-lpg-or-cng/ Going green and cheap: Should you pick LPG or CNG?www.cartoq.comAll those who are wondering which of the cheap fuels you should choose, here are your answers Alternative fuels such as liquefied…[Read more]
in case you need to buy a diesel car (Dzire diesel) as you mentioned in your previous post, know well that the insurance premium you pay for a sedan is more than the hatchback (Swift) plus mileage will be lowered by atleast 1 km due to the car’s additional boot weight. Ideally, I would suggest you to wait for the 2012 Dzire if you are still…[Read more]
Just to update people, though TATAs have a bad service repo coz of d past but they are continuously improving and at least in garhwal where tata cars sell in handsome commercial numbers coz f heavy tourism business the tata has a widespread service network plus the recently started flying service in case of vehicle emergencies is offering good…[Read more]
I PICK SX4 N FORD FIESTA…BOTH R COMFORTABLE CARS FIESTA IS BETTER BUT FORD SERVICE IS NOT THAT GUD WHERE IS MARUTI …THERE R MANY GUD SERVICE STATION N SX4 GIVES GUD MILEAGE …..
Fiesta and SX-4 would be great to drive in cities as the power is not an issue.Verna though looks good in performance will be better in highways.@Pranay Linea is also good but now the three killers murdered it
Hyundai Verna fludic.
Fluidic Verna The Best.
Ermm… I want SX4.. only coz it can negotiate potholes better
Fluidic Verna as no other car offers so many features.
My Choice is:-
1. Fluidic Verna CRDi.
2. SX4 DDiS.
3. Honda City iVTEC.
4. New Fiesta TDCi.
what about toyata-etios…
I prefer a strong and lower maintenance car…for me Maruti Sx4 Diesel tops the list. I would not go for style only..performance is my prime criteria.
SX4 is bst in diesal.
wish verna was from maruti ) in the end maintenance/spares cost is what will burn holes in the pocket.
I think verna top in the list…beauty meets quality…
I would close my eyes & pick all new verna.
Think of vento
new verna !!
my choice is Hyundai Vernaaaaaaaaa.
SX4… coz I thnk it would also offer better resale value.
Obviously the Fiesta should be in the 1st list. Ford engines are considered much more efficient than any other. comparatively the features and prices are also acceptable.
bt it has mearlt 1.3 engine same as dezire….
But SX4 uses a variable geometry turbocharger and this makes a lot of difference.
No Doctor..m a die hard brand loyal to Maruti Suzuki…n over the years i have not been proven wrong that Maruti Cars are the Best cars made for Indian Roads after Fiat and the gr8 Ambi. Vento coming from Volkswagen..is hard on the pocket where spares are concerned..plus after sales service are rare as there service backup is nothing compared to…[Read more]
Verna rocks al the time, fiest looks like frog… worst exterior… old version is better than the new. SX 4 is not at al comparable with verna…..
Maruti SX4 diesel for its service backing and lower parts cost.
what abt Sunny diesel & Rapid….
