Performance will be below par.AFAIK my friend who owns an Wagon R LXI duo tells that the mileage in city is around 10-12kmpl and is not a rev-happy one.

Dealer fitted CNG is as good as the company fitted kit. However i think the company fitted Wagon R CNG comes with a specially made suspension setup to reduce bounce and other parts like spark plugs, valves etc too are modified to suit CNG better. If your dealer promises all these changes as well, then its better to go for the VXI if the dealer is…[Read more]

If you are planning to keep the car for 5 years, go for the Beat Diesel it has ARAI-certified mileage of 25 kmpl and that would help you save significant running costs. If you are planning to keep the car less than 5 years, Wagon R CNG is a good buy!

Be sure that CNG vehicles fetch lesser resale value and not that good at performance when compared to Beat D

Should I get CNG on my 2008 Maruti Suzuki Swift? I'm  very happy with the performance, engine, comfort but due to continuously rising prices of petrol I'm thinking to switch over to CNG. is it good option ? What care should be taken while using CNG car as I dont want any physical harm to the engine ? Any other points ?

its swift where no single dealer is ready to compromise, however price has been increased by maruti and dealer so he is not in situation to reduce it.

Suggest between the Wagon R Duo (Petrol+LPG) or Chevrolet Beat Diesel, considering a run of 1100 kms/month.

WagonR Duo is a better option than CNG kit for wagonR etc. But Beat diesel is very economical too. I personally would always choose a petrol or a diesel – so biased in favour of Beat diesel. But WagonR has more interior space.

Both are having a running cost of Rs.2/km., then comes a factor of maintaining a petrol Maruti in comparison to Chevrolet diesel!!

Diesel Beat wont cost a bomb to maintain because it uses best materials and the warranty is upto 100000 kms.

In the long run, dual fuel cars don’t offer the same performance and low maintenance as against single fuel cars … its better to go for the Beat :)
