The year 2011 witnessed several hot launches especially in the below Rs.10 lakh sedan segment. The cars launched include the Toyota Etios, Maruti Suzuki SX4 diesel, Hyundai Verna, Nissan Sunny and the Skoda Rapid. However, not all the cars managed to successfully notch up good sales numbers. But of those that did, the Hyundai Verna, SX4 diesel and Toyota Etios are worthy of a mention as being cars

its price its asking for is too much of a premium its not even a proper offroader…rather opt for a proper SUV….and the XUV sales will keep zooming as there’s no potential competition in that price range.

Switch off the AC button when the car is cool enough. This applies to cars without climate control. If the car is equipped with automatic climate control, set the car to optimum temperatures to prevent the compressor from running for a long time

Smartly use the AC means we should avoid keeping AC ON on signals, you can also keep AC power at min here… lower rpm lower AC…at higher rpm it doesn’t matter

Hey… for bike owners… use better engine oils… timely change the oils and use high performance oils… they improve performance and better accelaration…. Maitain an optimum speed always while riding, for eg: for FZ or Fazer, you get 40+ only if u control and ride at speeds of 45 and 50…. 60 and above dips the efficiency….

Sanju Vivek but, TATA Sumo has a great look (though it’s old enough). And, I don’t like the Scorpio too (an SUV without proper proportionate distribution of kerb weight and power).

Sanju Vivek I second you Friend, but in the case of Bolero….

The look kills the car (and the price and the power ratio also)…….

Hyundai to sell i20 diesel with 5-speed box only; price cut by Rs. 8,000

Hyundai has confirmed that the i20 diesel is now available only with a five speed gearbox instead of the six-speed transmission it came with earlier. But if you are a value-for-money buyer, there is some respite for you - Hyundai has thrown in a small price cut.

I guess this will boost the demand of i20. I was expecting the same thing would happened with i10 with diesel but they did it with i20.

big mistake… ppl who understand cars know that the 6th gear is essential in a diesel car cos it makes highway cruising effortless at 1200-1500 rpm and minimum engine noise. i20 has suddenly become worse and Rs 8000 price cut is not enough to lure sm1 who is plannin to buy a swift. is stupid. i used to lik this car, now suddenly i hate it….. :)[Read more]

Hyundai vehicles are good but too costly to maintain. The spare parts are not available in the market and the service centre charges exorbitantly. After the free service regime….it rather makes you cry.

Just 8K seems too little to make an impact. While those who were planning to go for i20 will be happier, this puny discount will not be able to draw attention of potential customers who are considering some other diesel hatchback. Anyway, from the article it seems that the discount is not actually for pumping up sales.

i20 5 speed is faster than 6 speed.5 speed is faster by 2 seconds (0-100) compared to 6 speed. In city driving we hardly use 6th gear.

You will notice that if u go to a TATA-FIAT dealership the sales team directs you directly towards the manza and the vista when u point to the the linea and punto they say “sir yeh bhi achhee hein”.

now the problem is something else.

Nothing will change till a new management team comes in.Own a Linea for 2 years now, its a fantastic car. Even service by VST Chennai is superb, never had an issue.Lousy marketing team and distribution set up is killing a great product.
