Which diesel sedan should I go for under Rs.11 lakh? I am looking for good features, comfort and good ride quality. I want to buy a car with a low waiting period. My options are the  Hyundai Verna Fluidic 1.6 SX, the  Volkswagen Vento Diesel Highline, the Ford Fiesta Titanium 1.5 TDCi and the  Skoda Rapid 1.6 TDI Elegance. What do you suggest? Regards, Raji

Hyundai Verna Fliudic is the best one to get arounf that budget and powerful engine is a boon on that car
But for a decent drive and decent features Vento TDI is best

if you need features then go for verna or fiesta …but i dont prefer ford tdci much n verna has some waiting period …. rapid has all the much needed features ie the essential ones only as well as an awesome ride handling and quality .

fiat linea fits perfectly in ur criteria take a look at it after 3rd jan
ride quality is a bench mark in d segment n has a small waiting period too.

All are more or less good… now go with Verna or Fiesta if wants a sporty bit.. go for Vento or Rapid if likes simple and classy things :D And If wants both, go for Fiesta, as it would never become a street car like Verna…

Linea with lil discounts on diesel is an attractive option, rides well too.. verna is too much feature loaded and is an excellent vfm but loses some ground on ride quality.. sunny is for calm drivers, it handles well but lacks sporty feel, and about rapid, its better to shell out 25000 more for vento.. If I’ve to choose one, I’d lock between verna…[Read more]

Ride quality is actually quite subjective – it is different in the city and the highway, on good roads and bad roads, at moderate speeds and when driving fast… on straight roads or on mountain curves. Where exactly will you be driving the car? Verna is quite plush and nice on uneven roads at slow speeds, not so good at curves… Rapid is stiffer…[Read more]

@gaurav: buddy, for ride + handling quality &for value for ur money go with Linea. Its gud compared to others. But it has low ground clearance.
Rapid is also a gud choice. Only it vl b expensive to maintain.
Verna is a feature rich car. But its also a bit low grounded &its handling is not so gud as 1 expect.
        Test drive al d cars.

For ride quality, go 4 skoda or fiat. New linea coming on 3rd jan will get better interiors and ground clearence. Fiat service cost is as low as maruti but quality depends on dealer. Same with skoda but costs are higher.

Rapid. No doubt! But check with some Skoda owners in your locality on the after-sales-experience they’ve had with the dealers there. That’s THE only issue with owning a Skoda. That apart, it’s a car and brand you’d be proud to own.

Rapid or Vento, you’re essentially getting the same car. Look at which car is more convenient for you – as in access to service station etc. Rapid is about Rs. 25,000 cheaper than Vento variant for variant – also the Rapid has 8 variants (5 petrol, 3 diesel), while Vento has 5 (3 petrol, 2 diesel).

I say try the i20 too since you are considering a premium hatch……VW is nothing to write home about (barring the build quality which is far superior to marutis’)…it is a good brand and that is it! Dealer network is still small and finding a qualified mechanic in case of a breakdown is difficult…I personally am not a fan of the Swift…but…[Read more]

I don’t think shelling 8 lakhs (at least in Bangalore) for a Maruti hatch is worth it. As most of the people suggested pls take a look at I20 Asta CRDI. If you are looking for Polo and 3 cylinders are fine, please take a look at Fabia TDI which has the same engine. I was blown away when I took the test drive and their mid and high variants are…[Read more]

Go for swift only polo engine sounds like mini tractor. I know polo is a good car good engg very soft stearing. But swift is more comfortable than polo polo is very tight in the rear seat spares r too costly of polo .milage is less than swift. So i suggest u swift or ford figo if u like the ford brand figo is more comfortable than swift
