Within one month means you can pretty much forget every diesel except the Punto. However, your running does not necessarily warrant a diesel. Among the petrols I’d say choose between the Swift and the Polo. The 1.6 Polo is one fun car. I will not recommend the i20 now as an updated model is due.
You should definitely go for a diesel variant since your monthly running is high (excess of 1000 km). Among the choices you have mentioned, the Punto will be available mostly within a month. Punto is a great looking premium hatchback, has solid build quality and packs in most of the features offered by its rivals. But Fiat’s after sales service is…[Read more]
I beg to differ with Aravindhan a bit. I feel with 1-1.5k monthly running, a diesel is not an absolute must. Lets not forget that apart from a direct 1-1.25 lakh price difference, most of these hatches have additional discounts and schemes on their petrol variants, which are not available otherwise. So we are effectively looking at a difference…[Read more]
will it be a right choice to buy punto 1.3 dynamic?
Farhan, go for Polo Petrol (1.6)! Dependable hatch, design will look fresh even after 10 years. It’s an investment, you don’t have to look for another car for 10 years!
Punto 1.3 Dynamic is a very competent car in itself.
You should opt for the Fiat Punto it’s available off the shelf and is a very satisfying vehicle. The Service too promises to improve in the near future. The i20 is also a nice option but the new i20 is expected to come out and if I had time on my hand I would wait for it.
At max 1500 km, you can go with either one. If you are buying on EMI mostly though, diesel might save you more money. Swift is out as you need it in one month. I will rank your choices as i20, Polo and Punto. i20, because the new i20 is cming, and the current one may not be in high demand. with luck, some good discount is also possible. Polo for…[Read more]
i would have opted for i20 , first its facelift is coming upfront and the current model is still having waiting of 60days
Go for the Punto. Its available off the shelf and is a good package overall.
Hi Farhan: Polo or Punto my rec. Not a korean car please !
i have decided that i will go with punto 1.3 dynamic. gonna book the car tomorrow hopefully
Italian Beauty …!
I 20 or punto.
punto
Good luck Farhan! Be a good defensive driver, do not forget to use seat belt! Punto is a nice car only worry is servicing!
Have you booked it? let us know how your dealer experience was!
if u have budget of 7+ then go i20 diesel!!! facelift version(new)
I 20

Congrats Farhan! After you get the car, don’t forget to come to the site and add it as the car you own in your profile page at http://www.cartoq.com/members/farhan-kash/
Punto 90 bhp
Punto 90 bhp
Punto 90 bhp
punto is bad
u take new swift VDI which has got a new engine and a pikup in 2 gear swift runs at speed of 80 km/h
i 20.
Frahan do upload a dealer review, as the servicing n hospitality of fiat is always a topic of discussion
after your first servicing do let the community know if you found it to your expectation
It’s a tough choice. The Safari Storme is definitely an improved version of the existing Safari (although the look is slightly toned down). But when you compare it to the XUV, the XUV offers far more features. In terms of performance too, the XUV is slightly better than the Storme (because of a lighter monocoque body, six-speed gearbox), although…[Read more]
Storme, if you want more luggage space at the back.
Its like the current choice between KF Airlines and Indigo. Just like KF is for Galm and beauty, so is XUV, for Reliability, Consistencey and a little nagging issues its the Tata Safari, I own a safari as old as 45 days….
The Safari Storme looks a little less mean and SUV like. Plus the XUV500 is just very feature rich. If space is not paramount go for the XUV500.
thanks al
Budget aside, choosing between an XUV500 and a Toyota Fortuner depends on what your primary needs are. If you are going to be using the vehicle primarily in city traffic or out on the highway, with occasional rough road use, the XUV500 will perfectly suit your needs (and save you plenty of cash). However, if you want that butch image, tough,…[Read more]
The Fortuner is likely to hold its resale value better in the long term. Although it doesn’t have half as many features as the XUV, when it comes to reliability and peace of mind, the Fortuner scores much better. WHile the XUV500 is feature rich, the longevity of these features (especially the electronics) needs to be seen.
Even if price is nute an issue you need to decide what you really want from your SUV. The Fortuner is bigger and feels several times more classy and sophisticated. The XUV500 with all its features is tempting but the Fortuner will have a higher coat of ownership. At the end of the day you are choosing between a Manhidra and a Toyota so you need to…[Read more]
By future prospects if you mean long term ownership for say, the next 10 years or more, than it is the Fortuner that makes sense, else it is the XUV.
Congratulations Akshay, hope you enjoy driving around town in your brand new XUV
Wow. Great news Akshay. Looking forward to a nice owner review from you
If you want a complete package.. go for I20, if just for brand – Fabia but be ready for a high maintenance… and if don’t want to experiment,,, go for new Swift
if want to look at other options,,, Figo for economy and consider Polo for looks and class….
Swift for super reliability. But long wait for the car. Else, i20, reliability and overall practicality and style. Fabia a bit cheaper… but not very popular, so there must be some reason for that
The Swift is a great package but depending on your dealer and location it could take a long time before you get the car. The i20 is a good option and will give you some peace of mind as well. The Fabia is a solid car and its interiors feel upmarket and well crafted however people usually have complains about Skoda’s service network and the cost of…[Read more]
Ahhhhh… Aria it is. Definitely. More space, good ground clearance. It is in many ways an SUV that looks like an MPV
Problem is that very few people are buying it, and you will have to keep explaining to people why you bought it!
Also consider buying the new safari Storme,it is a cross between Ol’ Safari and Aria i.e., Storme comes with Safari name with Aria’s chassis(monocoque i think)which means a class apart from Safari and below Aria.
Its better to wait for the test drive reports of the new Safari (Safari Storme) and then come to a conclusion!
Aria does not have a monococque body. It is a body-on-frame vehicle only. Same with the Safari Storme. The Safari VX4x4 has a part-time switchable 4×4 system with a low-ratio gearbox that’s good for extreme off-road duties. The Aria 4×4 on the other hand is only an All-wheel drive when the situation demands, and can handle only mild off-roading.…[Read more]
I would just say one word for ARIA , another BIG time flop show by TATA’s.
If ur buying a 4×4 then the Safari makes more sense but if ur not going to be off roading that much the Aria is a better bet. Question is do u want to spend the extra money? There are plenty of better choices out there!
Source?
Confirmed again, i posted this on the MINI INDIA page and they deleted it
buddy, close ur eyes &go with Honda City. Best Petrol Sedan of its class. Or else also look out for Fiat Linea. Looks cool, ride &handling is gr8 &right nw gr8 offers too goin on.
Honda City CE
in Tafeta White and get Black Konig Theory Alloys m/ Done
Honda city Corporate edition is much better than fluidic verna,City feels better in terms of comfort on all 5 seats, better refined petrol engine but only lacks features
I agree with all the comments above, with the price cuts now city is the best, also if u wanna keep it for long time, see if u can buy it within this year as dealers are giving discounts this time of the year as ppl dnt prefer buying cars at end of year, cos waiting a month gives the tag of a next year model, hence bettr resale value in future.
Thanks for the advices guys.. I think i will go for honda city then.
What about the black colour? at least the ORVMs will match the colour body
@rahul i will also buy it in 2012
@ Farhan: Black looks good on City, so does white, and that maroonish colour, dnt know its exact name, the red wine kinda colour.. And I guess it wont make much diffrence when you buy, cos I just saw ad in todays paper that Skoda is giving 70,00 off on Laura till 31st dec. Considering a similar or even 50k discount on City, I guess that much would…[Read more]
@rahul i guess the colour name is Red pearl.. yes but i don’t think city will be having any discount offer for the new year as its facelift has been recently launched..
As city CE doesn’t have body coloured ORVMs and door handles, so i guess black will suit the CE city.
@ Farhan: You are right, honda may not be willing to give another discount when the prices have just been cut.. And yes, black looks best on City, it makes it look a segment higher in my opinion, especially in night.
Honda City is the best option
If its features that you are looking for the Verna is packed to the tee but the Honda City still scores in terms of ride and handling. You may also consider the Fiat Linea, Volkswagen Vento, Skoda Rapid etc. However since you are looking for a petrol sedan the you can’t really go wrong with any of these cars!
I’d say the Outlander, because: Rockford Fosgate Sound System, Twin opening tail Gate, Deadly looking projector headlamps, Selectable All wheel drive, more powerful, Cheaper !!
The Mitsubishi Outlander is a great vehicle, but the service network is quite poor. Otherwise in all aspects its a better deal than the CR-V.
Thnks buddies..
outlander
innova facelift as far as i am concerned
Ha ha ha… Dude u get hill ascend, hill descend, cruise control, climate control 4 x 4, voice command…. what else do u expect in a 12 lakh car??
ya i agree
U know what’s hill ascend and hill descend??
ya sort of
what is it???
when ur on a hill, u activate sum button and d car stops slidng down.
sumthing like tht
Go and tell him to go and design a car for himself… Scorpio = Matchbox, Innova = Egg shaped, XUV 500 = CHEAP QUALITY INTERIORS… Dws Auto has got 80.000 likes and when they are saying it is good, who is he to comment???
Hill ascend control = When u are going up a hill and your car goes off, any normal car will start rolling down… but XUV 500 gives u time to maintain the pickup and it doesnt start coming backwards…
Hill descend control = If you are coming down a slope, like the one in Raheja Vihar, you can leave the car in neutral and the car wont go about 30 km/ph
?Shah Aamir we are doing a video of the xuv500, and you can see hill descent control in it probably. Between the two vehicles, it is a tough decision. Both are comfortable etc, but Innova has slightly more space after the third row at the back for some luggage. XUV doesnt have space after 3rd row. Image – Innova has become boring, but XUV is new…[Read more]
Definitely, Toyota is known for its vehicle’s quality….
I would choose XUV over Innova because even if you accidentally happen to break any plastic part in the Innova it will cost you a bomb for being a’Q’ Class product,But Mahindra’s you can easily get it fixed at low cost and the same applies also for Tata
The Innova has space for luggage even if the third row of seats is being used. The XUV500 can hardly hold a duffle bag or two with the third row of seats up. Off course the XUV is loaded with features like, static bending lights, daytime running lamps, lounge lighting, the list just goes on and on. The Innova cannot compete with the XUV when it…[Read more]
