Ya optra magnum is also a very good sedan in this segment one can called best in this segment best pickup like verna and good control like fiesta but the brand image of chevy is not that good and after sale service is not good and spares r too costly more than honda spares.

It’s a very difficult choice as this is one of the best range of cars available in India at present. I went through this dilemma a couple of months back. Before I say what I finally decided, here are my opinions of these cars in question.

Verna/Vento are better options as they have quality + Brand image+ class = good resale value.
Fiat/Tata have no big brand value/ cheap fit n finish/ no class = Null resale value.

To add to the backseat feature list, Linea offers an a/c vent for the backseat passengers which is missing in SX4! Further Maruti vehicles may prove cheaper to own but they are astoundingly light weighted which adds to the fuel efficiency but compromises on quality! Service network, Availability of spare parts, 24/7 Road side assistance are a few things customers consider to have peace of mind. Once fiat is able to cope up with all these, fiat will improve in sales. Afterall the engine(1.3 Multijet Diesel) used in most cars are manufactured by FIAT. So improving on all these aspects will gain customer attraction.

why fiat is still ignorant of the fact that the major reason of their failure with Linea is its under powered engine? :( … wake up fiat! you will not do any more wonders here with this weak engine for a car like linea. Understand that the power is where we talk about a deal most of the time after mileage. Remove the label – underpowered.

We have sales data showing people not showing much interest in FIAT…Finally Fiat taking big step though its late but we can’t forget about Fiat engine performance, its good. They should also launch some more models in India to get some more market share…
But I will still not go for Fiat Punto or Linea, would rather go for Swift or Honda City.

Fiat Linea is running out of steam, and time

In the past six months, the Fiat Linea has sold a little over 4,400 cars. In the same period, Maruti Suzuki sold more than 14,800 units of the SX4 and Volkswagen sold more than 17,500 units of the Vento.

Fiat Linea is a gud looking car. Two, it has an excellent ride. Three it is a ‘BIG’ car in fact it is as big as the Toyota Corolla Altis and the Honda Civic. And what is equally important is that it has an excellent diesel engine. But,yet the sales suffer bcoz after sales service is not gud,the resale value also not gud….But until Fiat resolves…[Read more]

Fiat’s inability to put in place a good quality after-sales service network despite being in the country for 14 years has left customers wondering about the company’s commitment to Indian market. The real problem with Linea is poor sales and service oraganization and people. It’s got awesome look. Power, yes, the older variants are tortoises to start with. However, the kind of power and interior finish it has is not good enough to take on the competition.
