Switch off the AC button when the car is cool enough. This applies to cars without climate control. If the car is equipped with automatic climate control, set the car to optimum temperatures to prevent the compressor from running for a long time
Amruth Ganesh LOL
Even the ARAI certified mileage is lesser than that
what’s the meaning of carpool?
Akash Shetty go google it
Smartly use the AC means we should avoid keeping AC ON on signals, you can also keep AC power at min here… lower rpm lower AC…at higher rpm it doesn’t matter
thanks DWS for nice tips.
Even Better, Keep the Damn Rickshaws off the road, No congestion, No road rage, No frustrated Drivers, No Bottle necks, even the BEST drivers are very calm and better fuel average, I realised our problem really is Very High percentage of Idiots on the Street, and not an inadequate road infrastructure.
I try to switch off engine when stopping at a light or when not in use for more than 1 min. I try to avoid minimum use of AC. This can also help in saving some amount of fuel.
gud thinking g.
MY CITY GIVES 17-18 AVERAGE….
Bye Bicycle…. good exercise…. no petrol… no toll… no pollution…. no parking charges…

a fuel and money consuming honda is a myth!!! my city needs a servicing after 10000 kms and it cost less than my santro!!! and its a fact!!
same experience here…
My Honda City 2010 is more efficient than my Hyundai I10 (1.2 kappa) 2009…
From i10 i can get max. 17 km/ltr (with WIDER TYRE set)..
Its all depends upon the Engine’s Power to Weight Ratio, Tyres, Gear ratio, Aerodynamics, Suspensions etc. etc.
@Abhi Jeet,@Amruth Ganesh,@Ajay Srinivas Raghavan…
Did YOU ever have a chance to drive HONDA CITY i-vetec (NEW model)??
Dont confuse between Honda CITY and Honda CIVIC…

And for your KIND INFORMATION, i will soon upload the Photo of my HONDA City’s Digital meter showing more…[Read more]
Carpool: if more than one persons daily travelling from same way than instead of using separate vehicle use one
interesting to read but very difficult to follow.
thanxs nice tips.
let me follow it……….
Best useful Tips.
I too get 17.5 kmpl sometimes from my honda city iv tec.
drivin at de speed of 40-50 wil give u gr8 milage…
Alto k10 owners are still, least worried..!!!
Hey… for bike owners… use better engine oils… timely change the oils and use high performance oils… they improve performance and better accelaration…. Maitain an optimum speed always while riding, for eg: for FZ or Fazer, you get 40+ only if u control and ride at speeds of 45 and 50…. 60 and above dips the efficiency….
And better, dont use performance kits and filters… they can drink the petrol sometimes that when you sometimes hit above 90 or above, the efficiency might be way below 20 sometimes…
24.6 kmpl on verna crdi 1.6- highway
29.3 kmpl on highway for my new Dzire VDi & 25.7 kmpl in city driving… following all the tips for fuel efficiency. Never drive above 80kmph.
Could u give me an idea about fuel injector cleaners. How to use them and their price?. Thanks in advance.

comparison (LINK) is missing. well one question is it worth going for vista instead of swift?
But the shape?
I would prefer the micra over ny hatchback……
except for the looks n maintenance vista is fine compared to swift…….. swift is stylish, just like VW golf…… but vista a new design……. features n all worth buying.
u cant compare these two……
looks mattters…….swift s more stylish..n attractive@@!
maruthi name brand s good but swift s rotten tomato!
I will better go for Hyundai I 20 1.4L….No TATA vehicles ASS of TATA is worst….bye bye to TATA.
That is the problem – here is dwsAuto’s missing link – http://www.cartoq.com/why-the-tata-vista-diesel-is-better-value-than-maruti-suzuki-swift/ it is added above now. Vista is definitely much much better than any Tata car you have seen so far. It looks like you can buy it blindly, if you drive it and see it. Everyone thinks the car is very…[Read more]
I wud go fr vista as per its style nd its indian made.
TATA…if posible, change the tail-lamp design of both Manza and vista.
@Kumar Bhawar – If you cannot wait for the Swift, go for the Vista. Otherwise, Swift is quite incomparable in terms of sporty handling, performance and reliability. Swift can also fetch you better resale value. With Maruti’s reliable sales and service network and cheaper maintenance costs, its hard to resist a Swift, considering it as a overall…[Read more]
it runs on Italian engine (FIAT)
Yup bro bt maintain by indian drivers
I think indica as a platform has grown old….. its time for a change.
Aravind Anbu thanks
Babychen Mathew thanks mate
Vista VX anyday.
Dude just 3 years old (2008)
And thw swift was one the same platform for more than 5 years!
Utsuk Shah Indica was launched in 1999 . No doubt it had its share of evolution, adding new features and technologies along the way.But i still think that tata should come up with something new, something more stylish and refined than the current indica line up.
