Switch off the AC button when the car is cool enough. This applies to cars without climate control. If the car is equipped with automatic climate control, set the car to optimum temperatures to prevent the compressor from running for a long time

Smartly use the AC means we should avoid keeping AC ON on signals, you can also keep AC power at min here… lower rpm lower AC…at higher rpm it doesn’t matter

Even Better, Keep the Damn Rickshaws off the road, No congestion, No road rage, No frustrated Drivers, No Bottle necks, even the BEST drivers are very calm and better fuel average, I realised our problem really is Very High percentage of Idiots on the Street, and not an inadequate road infrastructure.

I try to switch off engine when stopping at a light or when not in use for more than 1 min. I try to avoid minimum use of AC. This can also help in saving some amount of fuel.

        same experience here…

My Honda City 2010 is more efficient than my Hyundai I10 (1.2 kappa) 2009…

From i10 i can get max. 17 km/ltr (with WIDER TYRE set)..

Its all depends upon the Engine’s Power to Weight Ratio, Tyres, Gear ratio, Aerodynamics, Suspensions etc. etc.

Hey… for bike owners… use better engine oils… timely change the oils and use high performance oils… they improve performance and better accelaration…. Maitain an optimum speed always while riding, for eg: for FZ or Fazer, you get 40+ only if u control and ride at speeds of 45 and 50…. 60 and above dips the efficiency….

And better, dont use performance kits and filters… they can drink the petrol sometimes that when you sometimes hit above 90 or above, the efficiency might be way below 20 sometimes… :P :P

Which is the best diesel car with power, space and mileage under Rs 7 lakh?

Ankur Sharma had a question which has become a tough one to answer in recent times: which is the best diesel hatchback under Rs 7 lakh if power, space and mileage are the key requirements.

Dude my vote is a bit out of league but I believe its quite practical.1. Indigo cs.. Power.. Space.. Comfort.. Mileage.. Light on pocket..You should definitely check it out.If space is a good concern then Swift is the most suck ass choice..

If mileage could be compromised a bit and you want a rugged vehicle then even Bolero is a great choice.I live in hills n I knw its a great performer where roads are seldom present.

Fiat’s MJD is well built and has a combo of Power and mileage so you have choices of the New swift,Tata Vista,Fiat Punto,All are good performers and have sense.Indigo e-cs with CR4 engine is a good option and no one here knows about the real comfort in it.Its good unless you try that(my neigbour is very happy with his 6 month old vehicle & he…[Read more]

7 lakhs..Well…in that case top end model is the best option…for you…

I would prefer Grande Punto..It’s very nice…except for the Fiat Tag…

Grand Punto 1.3 diesel Multijet is not a bad option although 1.4 fire is great….too…though its petrol..

        WHY MANZA.
        Engine Specs = SX4,
Cabin Space = best, whale of space & legroom.
interiors = not bad at all.
        maintenance = very economical.
        fuel efficiency = 17/18 local, 21/22 highways.

        1. Grande punto: good car but bad service and spares backup.
        2. Polo: aged and unrefined diesel engine and not enough features or space to justify the price.
        3. i20 sports: one of the best vfm cars in the market today but shld. make sure to get extended warranty as hyundai turbos fail sometimes, most powerful engine in this category.

VW Polo service cost at 15000 kms is Rs 8000/-….. Then Fiat Punto, the top model is 7 lakhs which comes with all features(compaerd to Polo, Polo is a waste), service is Rs 5000/ per 15000 kms….. Next I would suggest is Toyota Etios Liva Diesel, which is infact a very light diesel car, has poor features, but practically the best city car and…[Read more]
