Just read that Ford is giving cash discounts of up to Rs.1.25 lakh on the New Fiesta! Good to see that they have accepted that their cars were over priced and reduced them. Unlike Honda which took years and sales figures of 250 cars a month to realize that Jazz would die if not made cheaper.

India probably wont see Punto evo in 2012. Go 4 punto aftr the jan 3rd upgrades. Fiat will have separate showrooms by 2012 end, service will be better. Tata service isnt bad everywhere, just ask fiat owners in your area. Punto is easily the best diesel hatch.

Punto has some low quality plastics especially in height-adjustable seat belt latch and parcel trays. Steering mounted audio controls are offered only in top end Emotion variant. Rear headroom might be a bit of concern for six foot plus persons. Fiat need to emphasize on the after sales part as well to boost its car sales.

Where exactly will you be driving the car? Verna is quite plush and nice on uneven roads at slow speeds, not so good at curves… Rapid is stiffer…[Read more]

Its true… but you forgot to add the corporate discount and one’s bargaining power.. :) so a punto emotion pack could cost a lot less. And I took a test ride of it.. Its amazing!!

Both of them are great cars, however at under 7 lakh you will get a 90 Bhp i20 against a 75 Bhp Punto, as the Punto 90 Bhp will cost you a little more.Hyundai has a wider service network while Fiat’s service is handled by Tata and many people have had problems. I personally have a Linea and have faced no issues with Service. I think you should…[Read more]

i20 has better headroom for rear passengers, has big boot space and backed by reliable sales & service network. Go for i20 ! :)

Feature for feature, the Hyundai i20 offers more, but there’s no arguing with the style and handling of the Punto. Overall, though the Hyundai i20 diesel may probably give you a bit more bang for your buck.

Punto is a sensible buy if you don’t care about its A.S.S.

Punto 90 is cheaper, better to drive, has some unique features and is inexpensive to maintain but Service quality depends on the dealer.. I20 offers more features and has better service coverage.

the nly cars which look cooler than punto are the masserati and aston. Punto has unmatched styling and superior sporty handling. Though i20 offers more space and a wider and reliable service network. If u dnt plan a resale for ur car after sum years then go buy a punto

you should wait for the new punto coming in 2012.. then decide.

Cannot understand why people are such fans of Suzuki and Hyundai? Both make glorified shopping trolleys and are considered the cheeeapest options worldwide.

well the shopping trolleys have beaten the real cars to kingdom come in India. Maybe there is something for the manufacturers of real cars to learn from the trolleymakers :)

I dnt undstnd y indians give so much importance to swift? It is unstable above 120! Fabia is the tank on road and anytym betr handling even at 180. Its my personal exp. Swift ownrs shud drive fabia once

i totally agree sikander, the road handling n high speed stability/control which any euro hatchback can offer, the japs can only dream of. what maruti n hyundai dont understand is that people drive cars on the highways too. any oriental import is unstable at high speed, after 120 they start bouncing around, n wavering all over the road. whereas…[Read more]

Euro cars are yet to learn the art of making cars for paper specs like mileage(tuning for ARAI), features gimmicks,0-100 etc.. Real mileage, drivability, on roll accelaration etc dont appear in specs paper and most people make a decision after a specs comparo. Nothing beats a hyundai on paper, but on road its a different story.

yadhoo dumb are the people who go by specs, which are written by advert/marketing guys who themselves have probably never even driven the car they write bout. besides ppl shud realise ttht cars are driven on all types of roads n not on ‘paper’ . so yeah i agree with you that euro car makers do not know the (f)art of lying.

99 % of people drive below 90 kmph 99 % of the time. Above 90 kmph is illegal in most roads in India anyway. Most people also drive for high mileage, so their speeds are 50-60 kmph. No car is really bad at those speeds :D

what about the remaing 1% of the time when they go over 90km/hr. anyway what the argument is that ,why not go for cars which are safer cause they handle n stay in control at all speeds? plus cars which are superior in terms of build quality, engineering,n comfort. why not go for the superior product?

Most manufacturers agree they can't design a better diesel engine than Fiat's 1.3 multijet. Does that not speak volumes about the lack of engineering capabilities of 'other' brands? And while we are at it, lets not forget to give credit to Fiat for designing a 'gem' of an engine. People use ur brains please, if fiat can make the best diesel engine, imagine the rest of the car? glad someone agrees. tatas service is widespread, n they wont break partnership with fiat cause tata is learning a lot of tech frm fiat. also now tata has tied up for service with sister arm, tata trucks. which means more highway support for fiat too. In the current scenario, its wise to go for diesel car and prudent to choose a Fiat multijet engine which is amongst the worlds most trusted small car diesel engine technology.
