Hi Vikas, could you be specific as to which type of car or budget you have in mind? because 2012 will bring in a couple of concepts and around 30 new cars. However, it would be worth the wait only if cars are launched in the segment you are planning to buy ;)

Need a SUV/MUV within Rs. 14 lakh. Which is better; Toyota Innova or Mahindra XUV5oo? My main priority is brand reliability, quality, cabin comfort and safety while looks are secondary. Seating capacity less than 5 people is also fine as we'll hardly be using the last row in real terms. Advice please?

Well if you need more of comfort than styling better to go with Innova, reliable, comfort, best quality and decent engine, but if need a real SUV to spin around XUV is awesome for more features and at reasonable price, better for Innova

You shd give the Tata Safari a thought too. Its better than the Innova or the XUV. Tho’ the XUV has killer looks the Safari has an awesome feel. It really makes u feel u r in a Main Battle Tank.

If you reside in non-Euro 4 city, you can get Euro 3,its basic purpose is to reduce pollution levels, well if you live in metros, you have to get euro-4 emission ed vehicle. And be sure euro-4 will have more resale value than the preceeding one

10 lakh – Vento, Verna 1.4 diesels. SX4 diesel is a bit old but otherwise a good car. If you can wait, you will get the Sunny diesel in3 months’ time. Lots of space.

i feel vento and sx4 r the best cars in this range. the vento is definitely a better car to drive than the verna. the engine is very powerful, very comfortable to drive in city and simply awesome on highways. though on paper the verna 1.6 has 20 more bhp, the suspension and chassis is not good enough to cope wid the power so its pointless. verna is…[Read more]

After reading ur review I think vento diesel would be a value for money car, I drive mostly on highways so I think vento would be the ideal choice

are you going for petrol or diesel. If petrol, the Figo is a little under powered and may not suit especially for highway driving. If diesel, both Figo and Micra are good, but Figo comes with a lesser price tag but more features while Micra comes with all goodies at a higher price tag.

Try Figo if price is your concern,if you don’t mind about stretching a little bit then there are more of good vehicles than Micra, say for eg.,Punto,i20 etc

54k and 7 years is actually too much for a petrol car, that model also looks aged so better to avoid it.Take your time and Increase your budget to get a old Toyota Corolla or civic which are better cars or get a new petrol Swift or any other similar car and enjoy the hassle-free ownership for next 5-6 years.

i10 and Beat are very close, and often it is a personal choice based on looks. Hyundai has a larger service network, but Chevrolet is not bad either. Spacewise Beat is very slightly ahead of the i10.
