I have a budget of 6 lacs. I am in a confusion between the Honda Amaze petrol E variant & Ford Figo diesel Exi variant. I know both cars are in different segments. But I have selected the cars within my budget. I find both cars to have good rear seat space and efficiency. I am however doubting the Figo' ground clearance. I live in a town with high speed breakers and bad road conditions. Pls ad -- more --

First you need to decide between the Petrol and Diesel. Your one car is a Petrol and the other is a Diesel. Now if you have a monthly run of about 1000-1200 kms, then its sensible to buy the Diesel, else stick to the Petrol. Now the Ground clearance is an issue in the Figo, so you might want to look into other cars. Ground clearance wise and other…[Read more]

Automatic is equivalent to peace of mind (not in case of the DSG, that is going to screw you) and if you will be driving the car in city, i advice you take the Automatic. Even the difference between the Mileage is not that much. Automatic is worth the extra cash, and if you plan to drive it enthusiastically, then stick to the Manual. Although im…[Read more]

Sir All cars have nowadays very thick C pillar and the rear windows are not as wide as it was before! Some of the quests here is about the 'Ritz poor rear visibility'. Is this restricted rear visibility common to all cars these days or unique only to Ritz? Which hatchback has 'Worse Rear Visibility' than Ritz and Which cars have 'Better Visibility' than Ritz? Worse than Ritz- Swift
Better than Ritz- Almost every other car
Although, rear visibility becomes an issue while reversing, you can easily get Reverse Camera to aid you!

The WagonR’s rear visibility is as bad as the Ritz’s, as is the Polo’s and the Micra’s and the Punto’s. The Honda Brio has the best rear visibility.

Hyundai i20 and Honda Brio have excellent rear view visibility

Verna is awesome on highway. You can hit high speeds very easily and the car gives a stable feel. Although to some it might feel a little shaky, but then, i think they havent driven it that fast. I hit 160 kmph (Read 100) on the Expressway without having to push it very hard. Good car on the highway!

Yes. Verna has a bit sof suspension which s very good for city speeds but not so comfortable and is bouncy on highways..
If u want better suspension, go with Linea

Linea will run out of breath on highway due to lesser power but has a good suspension setup , on the other hand verna will accelerate top notch.

Verna feels nervous on highway & u need lot of concentration when on higher speed. I drove verna on highway on 150 Kmph when u will apply brakes suddenly on highway u have to hold your breath to stop it confidently. Personally not a Highway friendly car.

Diesel+Good Features= i20 Sportz CRDi. Its very spacious and comfortable too.
Brio will get a diesel powerhouse next year. Swift is a good car also. If you can do without features and you want to drive enthusiastically, then swift is your option. Vista is a Taxi, no offence. It has that Taxi branding to it, so I wont suggest that. Polo has a noise…[Read more]

Well, Double Din is bigger than the Single Din Music System. Advantages, well, it looks good and also you can get a DVD player or a Navigator in the dash. Single din are smaller, but then you get a bit of storage below the system also.

(Copying a reply I had given someone else before here): DIN refers to the size specification from the German standards institute. A Single DIN has a music system panel size of 180 mm (width) x 50 mm (height). Double DIN measures 180 mm (width) and 100 mm (height), exactly twice the height of a Single DIN. Those slim stereo panels you see are all…[Read more]

Come on man,how can a car costing 3.5L rupees(alto k10) have better acceleration than a car costing you 6L rupees(ritz or swift) they take more money from the customer not just for better interiors, there are other reasons.

It has a lot to do with the drivers, the Swift is not a Ferrari and 0 – 100 (acceleration) timings are more to woo prospective customers. Have never met owners who said they could do those accelerations timings given in magazines on their stock cars. BTW, the K10 has a marginally better power to weight ratio than the Swift. Regards.

Ford EcoSport could be a disappointment too, if we go by the model showcased in many malls in Delhi. Now if you want power, and you like that pick up, then obviously it is better to go for the 110ps variant. But the thing is, the 85ps variant is also decent enough if you want to drive in the city only. Also, in diesels, the Torque is what kicks in…[Read more]

What you experienced with the Duster test drive was the turbo-lag with the 110 PS variant. It develops good power only after 2000 rpm, below which it feels quite dead. The 110PS is great for highway drives, but for primarily city use, the 85PS is better because it has less turbo lag, making it much more drivable. If you want it primarily for city…[Read more]
