New 320d will be in showrooms in 18 days … to be precise. it looks like a smaller 5-series but, .it will be costlier than the present model . Then comes S60 – for the exclusivity factor.. AUDI is not bad either… BUT , NEW 320d is the one…
BMW all the way
go for s60 if you looking to be different among the breeds of audi`s, bmw`s and mercs.. equally good car on performance n looks gud too. ‘m not sure about after will be as good as laters..
Volvo S60 is best of them, but as the company is new in India not able to provide good services, very small network. BMW 320d is actually “sheer driving pleasure”. The car is very powerful and feels great to drive and always under control. Quattro is missing from Audi A4 2.0TDI, so is not that impressive but still spacious and have great looks.
overall bmw go for it…
Are you sure you want to go in for a diesel? The kind of premium the diesel models of these cars command over the petrols, you wont even come close to recovering that extra cost over a good 5 years with your running.
want to go for diesel only……… also merc is coming with good mantainenc package and all of them are offering 0% finance, i want to know which of the three will be good in terms of performance and running cost
If the car is self driven, with not more than 2 passengers in it, go for the 320d. A very pleasurable car to drive, however, it is let down by a bad ride and mediocre interiors. If the car will have a driver, try the Merc.
BMW 320d is less spacious and has little stiff ride but has the best fuel economy out of three and a perfect driving car. It is powerful and fun to drive, you will enjoy every bit of the car. Audi A4 with 2.0tdi engine is not that impressive though it has good interior space and comfortable ride. A4 3.0tdi has quattro and V6, making it a powerful…[Read more]
Call me old fashioned but I still believe that a Merc is, well a Merc. If I were you and if I wanted the car today, I would straightaway buy the C220 CDi, end of discussion. Still, I think it will make most sense to wait for the upcoming new 3 series. It is an all new car and has been getting great reviews the world over. It is said to be setting…[Read more]
please dont think anyfurther – BMW 320D.! period. a drivers delight and a Rear passengers nightmare.
Complete Packagae – AUDI A4.! a decent combination of Luxury with Performance.! 320D is performance oriented.! its an addiction. you will only keep smiling when u drive the car. !
A new model of 320d is to be launched soon.. heard it is a kind of mini 5-series…..
If you want a great handling car, choose between the Rapid and the Vento since they are the same under the skin. If you want a car with features, the Verna it is. I d pick the Rapid diesel since it offers me a complete package and I like its looks compared to the Vento.
rapid-ambition- 1.6 tdi
Take a look at Sunny also, you will be surprised to see the space inside.. Verna has low sitting and little cramped inside .
It depends on your needs and engine choice, petrol or diesel. If your running is high, i.e. more than 1000kms per month then go for diesel else petrol engine. Verna is cramped but it performs well and has good feature list although its suspension is bit of an issue for the enthusiastic driver. Vento and Rapid are like sister cars, almost same…[Read more]
fiat linea take a test drive
i 20 for performance , features and efficiency , Polo for performance and rough and tough body and Liva for low maintenance…
will suggest you to go for i20 as if we sum up all the above demands than i20 stand among all these perfectly…….. but do try the new swift or gofor i20
the i20 is the best option.. the polo is an excellent car but has lesser space .. noisy engine and very high price..
if u dont mind the noise and the extra money then u can consider the polo too coz the iterior quality etc are really gr8
but polo’s interiors are elegant and i20′s interiors are….well korean.i want the engine to be refined and silent…
i20 is having the best interiors under 10 lakhs and is having max features……….. u can not name any car giving anything above than this
Comfort,Performance and Efficiency… go for Liva…For built quality and looks and features go for i20 or Polo
new i20 diesel looks good … people usually get 18 kmpl.+ … it is adequately powered… comfortable too..
In its diesel form, the linea is extremely frugal, has decent power but is low on interior fit and finish and is now dated compared to the new fiesta. However, in its petrol manual guise, the T Jet continues to be one of our favorite cars to drive whereas the new Fiesta’s dual clutch autobox puts it in a different league altogether. To sum it up,…[Read more]
Fiat Linea for interior space, rear seat comfort and plush feel. Fiesta for drive and handling and features.
I feel Linea is strong and heavier comparatively and also sturdy enough for Indian conditions.. But then again, FORD offers amazing equipment and the interiors are just futuristic and the fuel economy figures are magical.. and not to forget that the price is on the higher side.. I don’t know even a single person who said they liked the way FIESTA…[Read more]
I don’t know whether this helps- A linea is as long as the previous version VW JETTA…
I think both cars are quite evenly matched for a person who wants a fun-to-drive sedan. The Linea TJet is the most fun to drive manual car around below Rs 10 lakhs. The Fiesta petrol DCT automatic is the most convenient to drive with a superb auto gearbox. That’s for petrols. For diesels, the Linea seems a little slower than the Fiesta. Ride and…[Read more]
Go for toyota innova, it fits your budget, is more comfortable even than endeavour or fortuner, good service backup, minimal service cost, peace of mind after owning a toyota..
@Gaganpreet, I did have a thought on Innova, but not matching up on features compared to others and its more used as a taxi
Here in our side its very famous family car as well.. that’s why i told you.. no other car can match it comfort wise. Buy some metallic color and do some customization such as alloys.. It would definatly look good and a family car as well..
XUV500 bookings are open across India right now I think. They had opened it on June 26. Wonder if they closed it! There is an interesting car coming up soon – Hyundai Elantra. Hyundai is known not to scrimp on features! If you are used to Linea, I doubt if XUV500 will suit your tastes. Mahindra service centers are pretty unprofessional (though…[Read more]
go for cruze ltz and get a headlight job done and seriously while driving the new engine you will fell like ruling the road …………. i am great fan of cruze but it lacks a little bit of luxury so got myself corolla but seriously i didn’t knew that interiors can be modified ……………… go for cruze
*feel
The Skoda Laura Elegance is also a good car to pick, or if you want exclusivity – go for the Volkswagen Jetta – not too many of those on the roads, as it is slightly more expensive than the Laura. Both have the same good diesel engine and decent mileage.
Ahem, Mathew – service quality of Mahindra? Yes, quality has been improving, but so have the costs! It’s really quite expensive now. Minimum service cost alone is Rs. 2000. Add oil changes etc and you’;re looking at an average bill of Rs 6000 now per service. Also Mahindra recommends you get your vehicle serviced every 5000 km, although oil…[Read more]
@Babychen, Any particular reasons why you think XUV500 would not suit my tastes? BTW when is Elantra launching? Moroever what I skeptical about Hyundai is that it isnt known for luxury cars and hasnt had success with cars more than 10 lakhs. Yes, on feature front I’m sure they wont disappoint especially when Verna offers so much. What is your…[Read more]
@Car expert, I’m still open to Cruze as its one powerful sedan, but again 15 lakhs and it lacks in luxury. Modifying interiors does have some limits
spares of cruze are on the higher side, but same with skoda and VW.. If you want to spend so much money than fortuner is not a bad option at all.. If you don’t have much budget than try out the ford endeavour..
man go for leather seats and go for changing your player to mega audio as they have specially optimized range for cruze which will give you rear parking camera , bluetooth and it is just fun to drive and dont forget any other priced less than ltz gives you sunroof
* other priced less than ltz don’t give you sunroof
@Roshun, Laura is definitely one car to look at, but not Jetta for many reasons. 1. It hasnt sold many, 2. Cant pay 15 lakhs for a car which looks so similar to Vento and Polo, no design freshness 3. Its costly when compared to others, but yes it does have good mileage.
@Nirmal – Yes, Laura is a good option. Fluence is a car I want to recommend but won’t just because of not enough service stations everywhere. I just love its looks. XUV500 – its a Mahindra, and however great their improvements, tata and mahindra vehicles are not near Fiat or GM or anyone else when it comes to build quality. Simple example is,…[Read more]
The classiest looking car is the Fluence in that price segment, though as you said the scanty dealer-service network is a bother. The XUV500 has a 4-5 month waiting period even now. There’s no beating the features list it offers at its price point, but service standards at Mahindra are not everyone’s cup of tea. Laura is a safe bet. The Elantra is…[Read more]
Elantra launch will be next month. They are already inviting journalists to drive the car.
Sir Nirmal — Now Your having a Linea…Which Italian pizza Doesn’t Match with Indian Spice’s…XUV500 is quite the punch…But I would Like to step forward and say Indian’s are still not up to to the small hick-ups that a car can give…I believe Europeans Car’s still have the Different Aura …So Stick to Europe..It’s Self…It’s totally my…[Read more]
Cruze is not only powerful but also most attractive in the segment. It is the only car with the sunroof in its class. Everything inside is just placed where they belong. Interior quality is not up to standards but looks sporty. The down side of Cruze is the lack of space, the cabin is so cramped and the suspensions are stiff. But 320 Nm of torque…[Read more]
@Aahnik, Your comparison of Indian cars with Italian and french was nice. What I meant to say with Jetta is that quite a few ppl confuse Jetta and Vento just by the front gille. I know ppl who really know VW dont do that. But I seriously dont like cars in 15 lakh segment look similar to 10lakh one, there should be a clear distinction. I’m also…[Read more]
@Kunal, Engine wise I agree no competition to Cruze, but seriously disappointed by the fact that when other markets have new Cruze, Chevy India choose to retain the old one. Well I wasnt comparing the sales of VW Jetta with Maruti, but yes when compared to Cruze its on lower side
@Nirmal – I agree about the looks of the Jetta. VWs look too similar to each other – and I am afraid even the elantra looks too similar to the verna – a bit wider and longer, but similar!
the indian cruze is the latest cruze … you can check the link given below….. and indian cruze looks a lot better …. http://www.chevrolet.com/cruze-compact-car/
I checked the US website too, some days ago. Found that Cruze is similar to what we have, difference is in quality of interiors and the equipment, rest is almost same.
@Babychen, Yea, it Elantra and Verna have similar lines!
@car expert, I was talking about this Cruze, probably its Cruze 2013! http://www.chevrolet.co.kr/cars/crz_index.do
@Nirmal Balachandran The link has the same Cruze which we have in our market. As i said earlier, little changes inside like the touch display and quality of plastics. On the exterior chrome accents with different alloys. This is the basic strategy of company introducing the car in Asian countries with basically same design. Even i checked the…[Read more]
@kunal – no thats the new cruze, showcased recently in Busan or somewhere. Check the fog lamp area
The rest of the differences are too small to be seen.
Sir Nirmal — I know,I know I can understand…sometimes I doubt my brother takes advantage of my Looks ehehheh ….
…VW is quite fond of making family..They become to close as family…sometimes…They produce Children Consisting female’s and Male’s but they all look same…Like I consider…POLO — KOOLIE NO.1 ,VENTO — HERO NO.1 and…[Read more]
@Kunal, This is the Cruze 2013 showcased in Busan Auto show. Agree that the engine is same and so is the features, but there is some changes to the front grille and lights and interiors. Actually I’m not particular abt these lights, but you see if I get Cruze this year, these changes might hit Indian market soon and I will have an outdated car…[Read more]
@Aahnik, nice comparison
BTW Jetta is out of my consideration as the Highline Diesel will hit 20 Lakhs, my budget is 15 lakhs and at the max +1 lakh
if you dont want to go for cruze than the only options left are jetta (expensive vento) or laura which was refreshed 2 or 3 years ago……………
Does anyone know anything about PEUGEOT launch….
@ Nirmal – heard of Peugeot 508 being tested in MH.. that happened a year ago.. If it is costing somewhere around 16L, then it is worth waiting… Also, heard of a soft-roader SSANGYONG Korando ready to be launched…
Peugeot is still going through the hassles of setting up. They were building a plant in Gujarat, but those plans fell through. There was talk of coming in with GM too. It’s going to be a long wait for Peugeot.
With a budget of Rs 15 lakhs, I would either go for the Laura, Cruze or Elantra, depending on whether my priority is refinement, power or peace of mind in ownership.
A fundamental question. What does the diesel Duster have to offer that the Scorpio does not, apart from better ride? I think Renault has got the pricing wrong by a good 50-70k, especially on the diesels.
Not going to change things much for Renault… They have overlooked many fine things.. No centre armrest in front, No Centre armrest in rear though the specifications say it has.. , Cramped front and rear space, Low seating both front and rear…three CAN NOT sit abreast in the rear row, Cheap Plastics all over, The extra coloured insert on the…[Read more]
i believe Renault has got a game changer . Their engine reliability and economy is well known factor . They marketing team will play and important part . The Logan was VFM product but got hit due to over taxi image and lack of advertising. Renault will need to play a wait n watch game , as safari with price cut will pose as a good competitor .…[Read more]
Renault Duster 1.5 dCi RxL 85 Option Pack
…. Its too small for 11 lakhs…!!, then no 4×4 option.. I would rather go for a used Pajero or a Captiva or even a brand new SAFARI (2.2) 4×4.. !!
simply can’t understand why ABS n AIr bangs are not standard …..hands down from my side
yes i think chevrolet sld phased out optra, spark, aveo sedan.aveo u-va…….which are not doing well in market……they sld bring sum new vehcles …… they hv sum successful product like beat, cruze, tavera.
Chevy lost the plot when the gave this car the SRV’s nose. It ruined an otherwise handsome car. Sad that it will be gone as its a hugely capable car. It can still give with like of the Verna and Vento and Sunny a run for their money in many many ways. Another instance where bad marketing killed a genuinely good product.
Its still the best car under 10 L .. , except for the front looks… Very very stable car with a powerful engine….
well my choice is Range rover,BMW X6….i wld like to ask why cartoq has not added BMW X5 which is a very good suv and it can compete with these suv’s.
where is landrover discovery and freelander..?
the real winner is the G Wagen
X5 and Freelander are cheaper than these. CarToq only listed the 10 most expensive SUVs. You are right about the Discovery though – it is priced around Rs. 63 lakh.
q7 4.2 is not for 66 lakhs . and yes g55 is the best .
also range rover evoque will have high potential in indian car market within a price range of 50-65 lac section is also not enlisted here….
Geländewagen is the king of all m/
Geländewagen is the king of all m/
Bmw X series sucks!!!!!!!!!!! they dont have any offroading capability!!!!!!!!!!! Proof Topgear Season 14 Episode last!!!! watch and relise and those who are planning to buy just leave it

Toyota LC 200—Pride of The World…My Dream

HYUNDAI SONATA
My vote is for chevy cruze
Chvy Cruzee….
IF U TALKING ABOUT VALUE CAR THEN NO ONE BEATS ‘CRUZE’. LOOKS SEXY, &TOP NOTCH PERFORMANCE.
CCCCCCCRRRRRRRRUUUUZZZZZEEEEEEEEE
Cruze wins over Jetta mainly for its looks and money’s worth when compared to the new Jetta. On the other hand when i saw the New Jetta which was beside to the Vento it looked almost same FE.Moreover it’s not appealing to the younger generation
fluence
Vote for Cruze….German sucks in india….spare parts 2 costly
cruze is the best….
automatic transmsion used in cruze is much more compact & efficient than the DSG gearbox of jetta
jetta will be best.. but if u want to need in low mentanance then cruze is fine..
nice camparoo….wait for the new cruze to come out jan 2012.
Dear why do you leave the Hyundai Sonata out of the picture.
good info am waiting for new cruze wit z series engine n new style!
cruze is the best.
undoubtedly cruze!
good comparison…..but 6 for 2 airbags , are u sure,…..cruze all the way man, that’s the best….THE DIESEL ROCKET.
To be frank, its heavier and thirstier
V W is the best………………………….
Waiting for the new cruzeeeeeeee. Wat bout the post sales services and spares cost.
Sonata needs a lotta freshening up to be compared.
its simple…..jetta s for 50year old corporates who likes 2 sleep in te bck seat…..while cruze is for the youths who likes 2 set te road on fire………..
Cruze has only 2 airbags?
I like feature list of Jetta. Cruze would be always my choice of the two nt only bcoz of looks bt also for maintenance cost, and service availability…
Does anyone here own a Cruze? I have heard some bad reports that the Sun Roof gets stuck and is not covered under warranty, after 30,000 KM makes noise which Chevy is not able to fix, etc… A used car dealer friend said too many issues with Cruze.
Is this true? Am confused as really want to buy it – HELP!
with this rains u need a Sun roof ? ![]()
Not sure.. have you checked Top Gear show?
Jetta
New Jetta Car all the way..
cruze is better.
The Cruze is about a year old. Doubt if anyone has clocked 30k km.
cruze is best inthis segment.
the jetta is a technological marvel but looks like a late 90s car. Cruze scores both in looks and features.
CRUZE …ANY TIME ANY DAY..YOUNG OR OLD EVERYONE’S CHOICE
cruze
disel rocket and very sexy
If dug into features Jetta scores, but Cruze missile wins!
cruzeeeeeeeeee
safety features doesn’t matr fr me….fr me ma beast mst hv killer luks…n killer performance…n cruze hs it all….
choose to cruze…:)
chevrolet cruze Ltz undoubtedly..
thangs
lets go on cruze! crazy use
Love Cruze — killer looks:)
simply yaar cruze is better..
CRUZE LOOKS AND PERFOMANCE IS AWESOME……………………..
hyundai sonata- more refined -6 airbags- more powerful and larger and more comfortable.
tata aria- for its excellent features and drivability.
Cruze is the best!
Forget both, buy the Toyota Altis Diesel. Best deal. Jetta is too narrow in the drivers position and cruz doesnt have enough place backseat. Best to take a trial.
Chevy CRUZE LTZ AT …..Paddle shift
go for CRUZE mahnnn…m IN lov WID my cruze….the sexiest pickup…it is not only made for driving..cruzE flieess on the road..perfect sport car… n inspired cockpit of CAMARO…;)
Cruze ny time one & only diesel Rocket!
My vote is for chevy cruze…bcoz this is SHAHI GAADI…FULLY ROCKET….G.C.is very good 165mm…Width 1788mm…Height 1477mm…or kya jaan loge…
cruzeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
undoubtedly cruze!
Its Just Cruze over the Jet-ta
If I got 15 lakhs, I will definitely go for Cruze just because of its stylish look and better performance. On the contrary, Jetta is good too but you know choice is always be there, So my vote goes to Cruze.http://www.cardekho.com/carmodels/Chevrolet/Chevrolet_Cruze
