Should I use the diesel car new or used? I mostly drive for house to office and some week end travel. Same thought was mine also. Thats the reason why I sold my petrol car and bought Beat Diesel. Although my monthly running was not much. This is a fact that if Petrol price is hiked , Used petrol car valuation will go downwards.

Hi Dhiraj, what’s your monthly running like? If it’s under 900-1000 km a month, I think you are better off keeping your petrol K10. The investment you will have to put in for a new diesel car would be at least Rs. 2.5 lakh more (assuming you sell your K10 for Rs. 3 lakh), and the time it will take you to realize savings from the diesel car would…[Read more]

I don’t think if Alto owner have to worry have to worry about that, as the car is still the best seller in the country. I mean you can easily go on with this for next few years at least (2-3 years).

The Hyundai Eon and Spark both make sense for you, the Alto K10 isn’t very spacious and since your car will be used only for short drives and not for daily commutes you don’t need car that is fun to drive. From what I understood from your question, I think the Hyundai Eon will fit your bill perfectly. Test drive the Spark and the Eon, although my…[Read more]

@kirty Kumar The Alto is the most trust worthy no doubt but it is by no means a good family car. It lacks rear seat space, the Eon and the Spark are more spacious than the K10. The Spark with Chevrolet’s maintenance scheme may be practical for you, although I personally would feel safer buying the Eon. It is a Hyundai, which means you get the…[Read more]

Look Kirty.. If You are new at Driving then Eon is Ok, else you will feel under power if Ac is on and More than 2 person inside. Spark is more powerful than eon. If you are driving mostly on highways and more than 2 people than choose Spark or else Eon is the Car for You.

I have got an AltoK10. Though it is a small car, the engine is peppy and has a good economy. Maintenance cost for the spark costs you 40 paise per KM whereas the Alto is 30 paise. Also look at the sales figures as well.

I am saying this as an owner of a black Scorpio. A black car + black interiors means your AC is in for a tough time. The interiors become a furnace when the car is parked under the summer sun for a couple of hours. Plus, the shine of the paint job is maintained only by regular polishing. No arguing the fact that the car will look awesome,…[Read more]

Well maintained black cars look very nice, but every scratch and dust and dirt show up easily too. You have to maintain it well. That said, I havent seen a Swift in black yet.

I’ve seen black Swifts. I don’t think Black suits small cars like the Swift. Black looks good on larger cars. Black tends to hide lines and design cues and is good at disguising mass. Pick a brighter color for the Swift. Black needs frequent polishing to maintain the gloss.

No, the Beat diesel doesn’t have any issue of ground clearance. Beat diesel is the most fuel efficient diesel ou can get. It would cost you about Rs. 5 lakh odd on road. It does not have much boot space (only 170 litres), but is otherwise a pretty good, value-for-money car.

If you think you will be driving around 1000 km a month, then Beat diesel makes sense. The savings you get from it are really good. Don’t expect boot space, don’t expect great rear-seat space. Rest is all good. 18-19 kmpl in the city and 23-24 kmpl on open roads, now that’s good.

The Beat uses 14-inch alloys. Go for any popular brand – Aura, Neo, HR, Platti – all make good alloys. As for the 2Din system, you have a vast choice out there. What’s your budget? The rear speaker slot can also take only 4-inch speakers. JBL has a range of 2-way and I think 3-way 4-inch speakers. You can try them out. Yes, it’s wise not to fit speakers in the parcel tray if you intend to carry luggage, as it can damage your speakers.
