Please advice:  i10 Magna with 30,000 on the odometer (2012 make), no accident for 2.5 lakh or Wagon R, LXI, run for 51,000 kms, 2008 make for 1.9 lakh (true value price). Both are petrols and I plan to have CNG installed, as I drive around 2,000 to 2,500 kms per month. Which will be a better choice? Thanks

Honda City CNG is the best vehicle that will serve you in long run. However, if you dont want to spend too much on City’s daily running cost and preferring a diesel car than go for Rapid elegance diesel, its a great car and you will love its ride. If you want lots of legroom and boot space than you can also consider Sunny.

Agree with @Chandan Modi….you should go for diesel sedan as your daily running is 95kms..
you should have a look at Skoda Rapid Elegance…for a comfortable ride for u and your family…and if u want more legroom and a big boot..sunny or scala will be good.. but i would prefer you to buy AT sedan as it will be convenient for you to drive and its…[Read more]

you should take the Swift Dzire. Its sole advantage over CNG is that one full tank will make it through the whole week! CNG stations have long waiting times, and waiting in that line everyday wont be a good idea!

Honda City CNG is your best bet. Its going to be a slightly costly buy but you’l get a thoroughly modern car which is superior to all other options, all backed by the excellent Honda support.

I would also vote strongly for the Honda City CNG. 95 kms a day will need a refill every 2 days but will save quite a lot of money over the long run, especially when the diesel prices may not hold the subsidy for long. Per km fuel costs as well as annual maintenance costs for a CNG vehicle are lower than a diesel vehicle. Regards.

vw vento will fill the good…for good riding quality + family joy ride it fulfills everything…..you have to slightly just compromise on the mileage part and maintainance…

For 95 Km / Day. Better Creature comforts in Honda City CNG or VW Vento Diesel / Skoda Rapid. Would not prefer smaller cars for this kind of usage. If you can put up with the Filling time for CNG, CNG is a better option. Also Cheaper and Greener.

If you wish to spend a little more, Do Look at the Corolla Altis, Also a Very good option, Available in both CNG and DIesel. Far more comfortable. I am very happy with my D4D G.

refilling CNG becomes a task but if you are fine City CNG is good. for fuel efficiency in diesel you can also look at Linea..it gives me 700 kms to a tankful in city driving

I am looking for a hatchback car within the range of 4 to 5.5L. The average running of the car will be 1000 to 1200km a month. I am ok to have Petrol car that should be low on maintenance, high on average and decent space so that 5 people can sit. I have selected following Petrol cards Tata Vista, Ritz, Swift,Figo. Please suggest which one to go for. I am ok even if some other car you guys refer. -- more --

Agar aapki personal pasand me se chuna jaye to Rapid sabse best rahega aur uske top model diesel me 10 lakh ke andar aa jayega (around 10.6 lacs on-road) aur petrol aur sasta padega. Therefore , simply pick Rapid. Its a great car. Also, Skoda is providing some benifits like GPS, Bluetooth etc free of cost with Rapid. Just go for it. Dhanyawaad.

Ertiga does not give good(similar to Swift) mileage in city, thanks to its turbo lag. Expect 15kmpl or thereabouts.

Nobody can predict the future, but I don’t think Fiat is going to pack up and leave. The only time they did that was in 2001 after the Uno debacle. There were around even through the turbulent times of 2005-6. India is too big a market to leave currently. Lastly, Fiat has been undergoing the transition into running its own sales and service…[Read more]

Predicting if Fiat will stay for another 3 to 4 years is difficult, but I would be positive. The first reason is that Fiat is making enough and more money in India by selling engines to Maruti as well as taking royalty for the engines Maruti builds under Fiat’s license. Secondly Maruti uses the same ECU’s of Magneti Marelli which is again a Fiat…[Read more]

Sir, you HAVE TO change the oil every 10k km irrespective of which make or grade or type of oil you use. This is because the that is the life of the oil filter. I will not recommend the use of K&Ns for regular driving either. They let in extra dust along with the extra air. You will end up compromising long term reliability and engine life. Ours…[Read more]
