Figo has slightly lower seating position than Ritz. Usually, higher positions suits best to driving as visibility improves much more. But from the perspective of luxury, low position feels good.
You can go with Ritz at it is overall VFM.
D zxi version of d ritz has d seat height adjustment option…so u can adjust it to ur liking if u go for d zxi version…
Ritz will be better regarding VFM petrol car.
U get to sit higher in a Ritz and all-view visibility will be good
I was also went through same confusion like yours. After reading internet and many test drives. and experts advice from cartoq. I am proud owner of ritz vxi. My budget was under 5lakhs. Thanks to running discount it costs me 5only. Ritz petrol is extremely silent and a very good pep. Ritz zxi will cost around 5.68lakhs on road delhi.
Primarily for city use – a higher seating position, gives you better visibility of the road and traffic conditions. It’s less stressful.
My dad taught me to use right foot always! This will ensure that you have taken your foot off the accelerator! Have tried using left foot few times and struggled.
Always use the right foot, whether it is automatic or manual. Using left foot is just like adapting a new way of driving, and this is not good as switching between manual and automatic may be tricky.
Left foot braking is a racing technique used with both manual and AT gearboxes. Useful during hill driving, taking fast corners, drifting and a must-know technique if you drive a CNG car which has a conventional venturi type kit
If the kit’s tuning is out, the car will stall the moment you lift off, so you HAVE TO brake with your left. That’s…[Read more]
Always use your RIGHT foot for braking. Even in an automatic – that way, when you drive a manual car again, you won’t get confused and your reflexes will be faster.
Always use ur Right Foot while braking.
@ shreyans sir,the left foot technique which you are talking about is only possible in AT cars right?not in MT cars….
Specifically MT. Trust me, its not easy to manage both the clutch as well as the brakes with just your left, especially in stop and go traffic in a moody CNG car. Your right always is on the throttle, as the car will stall the moment you lift off, even slightly. Requires a lot of practice to get it right initially. Over time, it becomes second…[Read more]
i20 has comparatively low maintenance costs & low cost of spares…. Regards
Yes, i20 would be easy to maintain as compared to polo. Also, Hyundai A.S.S is better than Volkswagen.
undoubtedly its i20,the service costs and spares of vw are more than hyundai
You are slipping the clutch too much. Ideally, you should let the car roll into motion by just slowly releasing the clutch, without pressing the accelerator, Practice this, and give gas ONLY when you feel the car is about to stall.
Hi Subhajit, a reading of about 1800-2000 on the tachometer when you start moving is just fine for the Swift petrol, any lower and you risk lugging the engine or even stalling it if you move away too quickly.
Either you are depending on accelerator very much, or using Half-clutch. You should start with a gradual release in clutch, without accelerator, as suggested by experts here !
Hi Chaitanya, what part is not available for your car? Can you send me the complaint (details of when it was dropped off, what the dealer has said etc) on email: roshun.povaiah@cartoq.com . I’ll see what we can do from our end.
Chaitanya, please mention which car, dealer, city and for what reason it was taken in.
All the same, there are a few options for you.
You SHOULD insist the dealer for a replacement car. Normal policy is that if the car needs to be in the workshop for more than a couple of days, especially for no fault of the customer, the dealer is bound to give…[Read more]
Chaitanya has a Renault Fluence diesel E2 if I remember right. But a month’s delay is huge. Wonder what the problem is. @chaitanya please elaborate
One month is a huge time and surely it is annoying. You should immediately take it back and ask for the spare later on or outside place. The car is surely being used by them and it is more prone to be handled carelessly.
the car would have been abused or it would have been met with an accident. go and see your car condition by yourself….
Sorry Guys for late reply. Yes Roshun you are right, my car is Renault Fluence E2. I met with an accident, Tata Sumo dashed my car from behind and back bumper was badly damaged. And I gave the car at Workshop, After calling may times, they told me they are waiting for rear bumper. Finally they said they have fixed the bumper, but now it seems they…[Read more]
And the guy and workshop said, it is costing me around 95k for repairing everything and I got a mail form Bajaj guys that, they are going to send 65k to Renault Guys..that is from surveyor. After that when I keep calling them, they say me 3 more days etc. I have lodged a complaint with customer support and he gave me some complaint number.
Place is Hyderabad and there is only one dealer here in Hyderabad and Workshop is at LB Nagar. Car is Renault Fluence E2. @Roshun, I don’t know exact part name. I tried to call him to give you the name but his phone is switched off. Also I am worried about the 95k thing they are charging…Not sure..why it cost sooo much.
If the chassis component behind the bumper is damaged, they would have to replace that part as well. Of the 95,000 estimate given – why is the insurance company covering only 65K? What is the cost of the Fluence bumper – and even with 50% value on plastic parts – it shouldn’t be so expensive in my opinion. Do find out more detail and let me know…[Read more]
Thanks for reply Roshun, how can I know about that info. Should i call to bajaj alliance and ask them? Or should I contact Renault showroom guys.
Part is Rear Bumper bracket Support
The Fabia is not a bad car, more so because Skoda ASCs have improved by leaps and bounds now and are far more customer centric. Its build quality is still amongst the best in its segment and it has decent cabin space too. It is just that Skoda has stopped advertising it completely and its 3 cylinder engine is not all that great. The Etios has the…[Read more]
For ground clearance, the Punto is the best, although that’s not on your list. Skoda service reputation is what has hit it the worst, and the Fabia is just not selling, although it is a good, spacious comfortable car. Among your list the i20, Ritz and Polo are most popular in that order, followed by the Liva.
Fabia is good but as of now it is outdated. Liva is good to drive and handle, i20 has the most features in the segment with decent power and handling.
I think Polo top variant is now cheaper and feature loaded as compare to Fabia top variant. Because both are siblings, it makes perfect sense to go for Polo instead of Fabia. PS: Similarly, among Rapid and Vento, it makes sense to go for Rapid.
Dear All, Thanks for the suggestions, I am regular visitor to Car toq , truly “Honest cars Advice”
Thank you for your support and encouragement Paddy.
polo ground clearence has been raised now
For your budget and requirements, I d recommend the i20 diesel as a hatchback and the Sunny as a sedan. While the Sunny is not very luxurious in terms of features and is not very exciting to drive, its rear seat space makes it a very comfortable car for someone who does the kind of running that you do
And Sir What About New Manza Club Class Sedan and Etios..?
Etios, although refreshed but is still the same, very few changes done, but is good in some aspects. i20 fits best in your budget with most features and luxury. Considering Top end variant of any sedan would be difficult.
@Josef: The Manza is certainly a very luxurious car but has average driving pleasure and while it is comfortable at the rear, it cannot beat the kind of space that the Sunny offers at the rear.
Out of i20, Sunny and Manza, here is my view – Segment leading features – i20; Comfortable at rear seat – Manza and Sunny; Performance – all three; Power – all three; Pick-up – Sunny (There is almost no turbo lag. I was extremely impressed with it’s drive-ability in city traffic); Luxurious – i20.
exteriors are to each his own.what one might like other might not.i20-better interiors, better engine, more power, built quality, better features, more space, comfort,cheaper.swift-better handling, stability, driving dynamics, more fun to drive.resale, fuel effeciency, reliability, service are on par with each other no winner in these areas. if you looking…[Read more]
On these parameters, the i20 is the better car. Mileage, well, The Swift will be a bit more economical under city conditions due to the lesser turbo lag but that is not compensation for the cramped cabin.
looks are.. subjective i prefer swift for its exterior looks.. but its quite common now u can spot this vehicle even in rural india. mileage… its swift, interiors.. its swift again. but if u drive mostly in city its i20 for u. plush ride, ultra light steering and clutch are a boon city traffic. but if u are a frequent high way cruiser then…[Read more]
The i20 is the winner here on almost all aspects…
Swift will be more economical and performance oriented but the quality,,space,,comfort and looks of i20 are way ahead of swift!!
Your requirements are divided within the two cars. i20 for looks, features, comfort and swift for performance and mileage.
I did test driving for both i20 and swift i like more swift performance wise however i20 takes little more time to pick u right???..
and interior and features of i10 is awsome no doubt as compare to swift ZXI
my usage for car is only 15 km /day.
when i sit in swift i feel its little conjusted from driver side. LOL
i20 is the winner.
What is the difference in i20 magna and i20 mangna O
on the basis of Interioe only??
What is the difference in i20 magna and i20 mangna O
on the basis of Interior only??
these two cars have same space but you need more space in cabin and in boot the sail is best
On the basis of interior only..in magna (o) u get music system..powered mirrors button, front and rear defogger buttons etc..rest everything is the same
@cash..i 20 has bigger boot space than Sail-U-VA…sail has more cabin space than i20
someone is saying i20 is better and some is saying swift is better
someone is saying service of i20 is costly
i am fed up what to do
i20 better than swift in most areas..
Swift wins on mileage..and maintenance
What USB drive are you using? Try taking your USB and formatting it (FAT 32) and then copy the files back to it. A 4GB drive should work just fine, bigger ones sometimes take longer. But 20 minutes is a bit too long… It usually takes about a minute maximum. Get it checked at Maruti. Since the car is in warranty, they’ll replace it FOC.
thank u but why should i format it
sometimes a corrupted drive system leads to delay in reading. Formating will assure that the drive has no issues. Even after formating if the problem persist then you shall get it checked at Maruti.
20 mins surely there is problem with music system…. get it checked
Yes, formatting the Flash drive should resolve all the problems, as sometimes the files are corrupted or format is incorrect. Also, use lower capacity drives (4 GB to 8 GB) so as to avoid the reading problems. But if the problem still persists, contact Service center.
Of all the cars listed above, you can get off from Palio and Accent, as these have become very outdated now. Spare parts availability is a problem. One of the choices like Swift (2008) is also driven very much and looks like the price quoted is too high. Have a look at the fiesta and swift.
Thanks Apoorv. i have heard that the maintenance of fiesta is expensive and so as spare parts also. is it true?
I agree with apoorv i suggest you not to go with either accent or palio and when the question comes to which car you should buy , ford fiesta overall is a really nice car but i guess you will have to extend your budget a little bit for that and i suggested you to go with for fiesta rather than maruti suzuki swift because ford has a better…[Read more]
