Renault Scala is 95% Nissan Sunny which is a Japanese brand, so you can’t expect the high quality perceived with European cars.
Your friends are wrong, be happy! First, Renault introduced the Sunny / Scala only recently, and therefore, no one has data on how they behave after 4 years! It is a company that manufactures F1 engines and is very popular in Europe – where their standards of manufacturing quality are much above others. I won’t say their quality is better than…[Read more]
Hi, do not doubt Renault cars in India at all. They have been working fine in countries with similar conditions like India and doing well. Yes, in a way they are not as great as other European cars, but they are great work horses which are built to last. The reason they are not as great is very simple, their origins or roots are from Romania or…[Read more]
Too early to tell, but going by the reputation of the engines that Renault have – the engine & transmission at least will remain trouble free. The Scala is a rebadged Sunny, and Nissan cars too have pretty good quality – so I don’t think you’ll have any major issues.
Amit, Fluence and Koleos are from Renault, the rest of them are either Nissan or Dacia. Nissan is Japanese and reliable. sunny and micra has turned around the fortunes of that company. European cars are well styled usually and specifically Germans are well built. Scala is a good choice, It has all the goodness of the Sunny and thanks to renault it…[Read more]
At strictly 4L on road, both the WagonR and i10 will go overbudget. The choice is restricted to the Alto800 and the Eon.
Brio Cng may not happen anytime soon and even if it happens, it may cost above 5 lakh on road. Go for Alto 800, it is a proven car in terms of mileage resale value maintenance.
Brio diesel is likely to come first, and that itself will take some time. And price will be much above your budget. Choose between Alto and Eon.
In terms of mileage, resale and maintainence, you can’t go wrong with Maruti, and within a budget of 4 lacs, the option you have is hte Alto800.

the swift would be a safe bet however it has a long waiting period ,ritz on the other hand is much or less the same to the swift except that its the obese brother of the swift (more space), toyota etios has got the sure shot toyota quality .
Low noise – that would rule out the Liva. Among Tata Vista VX, Ritz VDi and Swift Ldi, the Vista VX provides the most value for money – same engine as the other two, but more space and features – it has rear wash/wipe, ABS, Bluetooth music system and electric mirrors. You won’t get this in the Swift or Ritz versions you are looking at. Maintenance…[Read more]
Liva is definitely out of the list if you want a silent cabin. The Vista VX and Ritz VDI will have more features than the base variant of Swift, LDI and since you want a value for money hatchback, Swift LDI is ruled out. Now, we have two cars, Vista VX and Ritz VDI. Between these two, the Vista VX comes with four power windows (front & rear),…[Read more]
If you are looking for a car you will enjoy driving then the Swift Ldi will be the best, however like others have already pointed out, the base Swift will not have many features. If you are looking for pure VFM then the Vista should be your choice, with the Ritz being a close second. The Ritz will be cheaper to maintain and is a safer bet than the…[Read more]
vista is best.. go for it
Thanks for your Reply…
I have heard that Maruti is going to launch new RITz. So Do you its worth to wait?
The new Ritz will only have some minor tweaks here and there no major changes but if you can wait then even those small changes in looks may be worth it
What about on Skoda Fabia TDI?
The Fabia TDi Active variant will probably be the one in your budget or you could stretch to the Ambition variant. It won’t be as much value for money, although it is a spacious car.
If I were you, I’d pick up Ritz (based on your requirements)
Yesterday, I took a test drive of Maruti Swift VDi which i liked it. I have almost finalized to buy Swift Vdi but then my friend recommended me to check the new i20 CRDI Magna (O) which has got more features and space compare to Swift vdi. Also, New CRDi engine had got more power to Swift Vdi. Again I’m comfused which one to choose. Anybody can…[Read more]
The Magna (O) CRDi will be significantly more expensive as well. It is priced at least Rs. 65,000 more than the Swift VDi at Rs. 6.55 lakh. On road it will cost you about Rs. 7.75 lakh or so. Yes, it has more features and it also has more space than the Swift. If you can stretch your budget, it’s worth it. Although I won’t call it value for money.
The Ford Classic 1.4 SXi diesel is a good value for money car. Except that it’s dated and may be around only for a few more years. If you plan to keep your car for a bit longer, look at other diesel cars in the same price bracket – the SX4 diesel has a good offer going, or you could stretch it to a Sunny XL diesel.
Fiesta Classic has outdated looks and its future is uncertain (Ford may discontinue the car in a couple of years). If you are desperate, go for it. Otherwise, you can try test driving Manza or Dzire, both have fuel efficient Fiat-sourced engines. Manza offers more space and comfort while Dzire comes with low price, low maintenance and service costs.
The Fiesta Classic is a proper three box sedan with all the basic features you would want. However there are a lot of new cars which may seem more practical, but none as elegant looking
Take a look at our Video review for a better idea about the car: http://www.cartoq.com/ford-fiesta-classic-video-review/
I guess Vista is the cheapest to maintain followed by Liva and Figo.
although Vista is cheapest to maintain, purely from the service point of view, Tata may not be such a good option. Headache free service wise the sequence would be liva-figo-vista. No point in it being cheap to maintain if you have to go back repeatedly to get one thing fixed.
The will likely be Vista will be the cheapest to maintain but the Liva seems like a more quality product
Fiat Linea all the way. Very good ride and handling. Looks gorgeous with Italin design and its much longer than a regular sedan of its class. Looks expensive too.
Linea is too much comfortable on the front and rear both..also the drive can be long enough non-stop with ease..Thanks to the Italian design.
SUNNY is speciouse but still it’s looks are not that good that of linea & rapide.Even Manza Elan provides Leather uphlostery in topend varient & feels premium.I think Linea will be choice if you want premium looking car otherwise Manza is a reliable option
For Rs. 6 lakh on-road you can get the Ford Figo top-end. Spacious car, fuel-efficient, but the downside being a slightly old-school look. There’s a face-lifted Figo expected in a couple of months. Swift VDi is OK, drives well, but doesn’t have boot space. Punto Active is a good combination of features, space and drivability, with a downside on…[Read more]
Go for Figo, it is the best here. Swift and Punto will cost more than 6 lakhs and still they wont give you the features which Figo have here. Figo is a good car overall.
Manoj, it would be easier for us to suggest a car if you let us know what are your priorities. whether it is space/comfort or performance/handling. Whether its features or looks like that…
Punto has some low quality plastics especially in height-adjustable seat belt latch and parcel trays. Steering mounted audio controls are offered only in top end Emotion variant. Rear headroom might be a bit of concern for six foot plus persons. Fiat need to emphasize on the after sales part as well to boost its car sales.http://goo.gl/pL8l4…[Read more]
Hello experts , plz suggest me which type of car i opt petrol , diesel, CNG & LPG , Actually i can run maximum 500-600 kms a month . my priorities : comfortably 5 seater , good handling , fuel efficient , power windows , ac , general features & low maintenance cost after free services . my budget is 5 to 6 lakh on road .
For 500-600 km a month a petrol hatchback would be fine, or even a CNG (slight extra cost initially). Diesel is better for cars that do over 900-1000 km a month. Good handling, 5-seater – Swift in petrol.
swift is a great car to drive around whereas the ritz is a car with oodles of space buy the swift if u belive in sheer driving pleasure , choose the ritz if u want more space.
Sai Manoo is right about both the cars. beat diesel though is a different type of car – it is a car for those who want very high mileage as their first priority. The other two are allrounders – Swift and Ritz. Their mileage is good too, but they are petrol.
go for beat diesel , as the price of petrol is hiking too much , and the chevrolet is giving so much offers
Ajay, if his monthly running s less than say 1,000 km, petrol cars are sufficient and I would suggest your friend to go for either Ritz or the Swift. Between these two, in terms of looks, comfort and features, the Swift offers more than the Ritz which is a bit more practical and offers slightly more luggage space. If your friend has made up his…[Read more]
thank you all!!!
thank you all!!!
if u mean 6l ex showroom price then swift vdi is good car coz of new interiors n have to comprise for boot space its gives a mileage around of 17 kpl in city n highway of 20 kpl !after sales suzuki si
if u mean 6l ex showroom price then swift vdi is good car coz of new interiors n have to comprise for boot space its gives a mileage around of 17 kpl in city n highway of 20 kpl !after sales suzuki is the best + better resale value
Abhinav, is your running close to 100 Km or 1000 Km? Because, for 100 Km, a petrol car would be sufficient. But if it’s 1000 kms, then a diesel car will help you save money in about 5 years. Maruti Suzuki Swift is the most selling car in the hatchback segment and then i20. Figo is also good. What are you requirements (apart from diesel engine)…[Read more]
100 Km.I don’t require Swift VDI because we had already one.It is 2010 version and has done 65500 Km in 2.5 years. The cars which I shortlist is
100 Km.I don’t require Swift VDI because we had already one.It is 2010 version and has done 65500 Km in 2.5 years. The cars which I shortlist is
1.Maruti Ritz LDI
Chevy Beat PS,LS or LT Diesel and Tata Indica E V2 LX.
My Running per month is about 2K to 2.5K Km.
As per full requirment,
Maruti Ritz Vdi (ard 6 lakhs on road delhi) between the 3 for it has a better engine, performance, service, resale value.
I agree with Sudhanshu Bajpai. Ritz is the best hatchback in all the cars you have mentioned. You get refined engine, consistent mileage, reliability and Maruti’s service back is wide and largely good. Go for the Ritz.
But Ritz may soon get some cosmetic updates and the launch is expected in July. Changes include new front grille, redesigned headlamps, taillamps, air scoops on the rear bumper. Check this out for more info: http://www.cartoq.com/maruti-suzuki-ritz-face-lift-official-images/
Or else,I will go for Beat or Figo
We will buy Used Diesels also.Which is good.I m considering Used Swift,Verna,Accent,Fiesta and Logan
Used Swift is good but since it is a Maruti and is the segment best seller, it holds good resale value. If you are looking for a 3 year-50,000 km car, it would cost about 3.6 lakh – 4 lakh in used car market
Finally we are selling our Swift by today or tomorrow for Duster Diesel.
We cancelled Duster booking and searching for another vehicle.Recently,2 weeks ago,our Swift had gutted fire due to short circuit.Want to sell Swift and go for another Car like Linea,Vento,Classic,Etios,Verna,Rapid,Scala or Sunny.Budget is 12 Lac.Running is about 2000 to 2500 Km/month.
