Note: Copy pasted my own answer on a similar question. “Here is what the enthusiast in me thinks. For that asking price I would add a little more and take the Fiesta auto as a more practical decision. Good power, better handling, sedan class, better boot. On top of it sealed gearbox with 2.4L kms or 10 years warranty, maintenance free all the…[Read more]
Please do not go by unconfirmed reports on the internet. Someone once showed me a picture of a snake with 5 heads…!!
well said -:)
Honda City for Paddle shift, ford for the best automatic and handling, fiesta actually drives better in automatic than manual.
let the polo come first!!!
Any auto gearbox from the VAG (VW-Audi group) needs to undo the reputation damage the DSG has done earlier. The wonderful DSG gearboxes on the Laura, Superb, Jetta seem to just give up someday, some even on the first week of ownership.
The Ford gearbox is maintenance free and sealed, warranty of 10 yrs / 2.4L kms. Plus its a DSG which is better than a CVT. So the way I see it, Ford is way ahead in the automatic gearbox race. Regards.
If you can afford the Ford Fiesta automatic, it is the best automatic under Rs. 10 lakh one can get. Among hatchbacks, the Honda Brio would be the car with the best automatic gearbox.
Its getting really lame, the ever impending launch of the Ecosport. It will get the Fiesta’s 6speed gearbox in the 1.5 petrol variant. As for the AT gearboxes, VW’s DSG is notorious for breakdowns, mechatronic failures and 2L repair bills. Has even had an official recall in China. While Ford’s DCT is sealed and comes a 10year/2.4L km guarantee. I…[Read more]
We will finally get to drive and preview the Ford EcoSport for you in the first week of May, so expect our detailed road test and video review around then, if we aren’t made to sign an embargo. The official launch is in the first week of June. As for the dual-clutch transmissions, if you look up horror stories on the Internet, Volkswagen’s 7-speed…[Read more]

I assume you are talking about the Ford EcoSport. We’re not saying that the vehicle is spacious. What we’re saying is that buyers would consider other factors other than space, when buying a vehicle like the EcoSport – factors such as ground clearance, fuel economy, rough road usage and such. As far as interior seating space goes, the EcoSport has…[Read more]
Had just space been the big selling point, the Nano and the Vista would have been recording maximum sales and the Alto800 and the Swift would have been market duds.
Agree with Shreyans – look at the Swift and the Alto, both are not great on space, yet they are market leaders. The EcoSport too is not great on space, but if it is priced right and has good fuel economy as promised, people would still buy it. I think when people think of an SUV – the first thing that comes to mind is “spacious vehicle”, which is…[Read more]
Its a great looking car which I would state as illusion SUV or a raised hatch, here 90% of people will never use the true capabilites of SUV and need it for showoff and road present, the Ecosport fits perfectly with its high stance and suffiecient enought space
