Pick-up drops and the car feels sluggish.
And added to that you will also get jerkiness when driving at slow speeds, when you want to accelerate.
get philips xtreme vision or osram night braker plus os same wattage as stock.
relays are good but if you don’t want them then go for stock wattage bulbs. The above mentioned brands and models are one of the best you can get here. I personally would prefer and recommend Osram Nightbreakers , a third option would be Hella.
The maximum wattage you can go for is 90W/100. I had them on my WagonR without a relay and they performed flawlessly. Mind you, this is still inadequate for hardcore nigh driving. If you do travel a lot by night, install a relay and go for 100/135 Osrams.
Thanks guys just got the lights upgraded to 90/100 with a relay included. There was no wire cutting required it was socket to socket connection. Yes mr shreyans i have 100/135 on my dads innova and mighty impressed with them but somehow don’t feel like putting the same on vento.
There are quite a few high end double DIN touch screen units in the market. A close friend has installed a JVC unit and is pretty happy with it. It is iPhone, GPS, BT and USB compatible with good touch screen controls as well.
which model did he install?
KW-AVX-846. But he tells me that there is a new kid on the block with Android and Blackberry support.
I recently acquired pioneer dvd unit for my i20, it has a very user friendly interface and amazing equalizer settings. The steering interface costs 3000 rupees and center fascia costs 2000 (i20 specific).
You can get the seat base bolstered with extra cushioning. Any shop that manufactures seat covers can do it for you. It costs around Rs500 per seat. Be sure to use the stiffest possible variety of foam available. I have had this done on my Scorpio and its a boon on long drives.
thanks for the info
205/55 15 may be too large for the Dzire. I don’t think you should go beyond 185/65 15 for it. (ZDI / ZXI) size.
The max you can go is 195/60R15, on 6J rims. You’l get plenty of tire options in this size from all tire mfg companies.
you will be needing 15 inch alloys to fit 205/55/r15 tyres. the best tires in this spec is s drives from Yokohama. had this configuration on my swift earlier and the grip they offered was awesome.
At 1000 km/month, diesel fuel for city usage is not a great idea. Secondly, most other hatchbacks will have larger dimensions making them harder to drive and park in (traffic congested) cities. Thirdly, most larger hatchbacks will have a larger turning radius than the Brio, again something that is on the negative side for city driving. A car which…[Read more]
Diesel prices are likely to keep moving up lttle by little every month, government has made diesel pricing free of control from today. There is a Rs 1.5 lakh difference between the price of cheapest Brio and cheapest diesel Swift. It will take 4 years approx to recover this money with 1000 km of driving a month! However if you buy on say 85 % EMI,…[Read more]
also consider micra or pulse if going for a diesel. both have amazing drive-ability within city.
The big difference between the two cars is drivability and features. Swift handles better, and is a fun car to drive. i20 is more plush, and has more features. For mileage, it is Swift that has an advantage. i20 does not give as good a city mileage as the Swift petrol.
the only thing going in favor of i20 is its features if you are considering the i20 era, its better to go for a swift lxi.
The Swift Lxi and i20 Era are too bare bone. The Swift is definitely better on all three requirements that you have. But it is so basic that there are no power windows, AC and power steering is all you get with it. Even the tires will be skinny and on steel rims. I would recommend picking up a used Swift Zxi some where around 2010 for a similar or…[Read more]
I test drove both the cars today..I did not like the build quality / feel inside the swift.(when compared to the i20). the looks inside the i20 looked more appealing.. and looked more plush like mathew and ashish said… the suspension and handeling was waaayyyy better in the swift.. it’s sort of a rugged car..made for indian pot holes… unlike…[Read more]
amit- yaar… I am not really a fan of second hand vehicles.. because i plan on keeping the car for atleast 5 years… i have always been a fan of the swift… but for that price tag i expected some features.. atleast in the vxi… but.. sadly….disappointed when compared to the magna
If you are a Maruti loyalist, the Ritz Zxi is a better option in that budget. It will come with ABS, airbags, alloys, better space for the rear bench & boot and a price tag which is slightly more than the Swift Vxi. It is a complete package against the sacrifices that you have to make in the Swift Vxi. The Figo will have almost the same price tag…[Read more]
If you are on a tight budget go for ertiga diesel and if not then go for innova, i will not suggest evalia
Innova for sure. Apart from that, check for Ertiga as well.
Please dont take the Evalia. Its just UGLY. plus it has sliding doors, too old fashioned. Go for the innova in a heartbeat. If you budget is a little tight, the Ertiga is the best!
First preference in Innova. a Complete comfortable vehicle. If you dont have that much money then go for Ertiga. it does most of what innova does.

innova is amazing car and i think it is above to the value for money.
innova is the best choice here, but in long run innova is very expensive to maintain. if you get an ertiga you will save a lot of money initially and the running cost is low than innova and ofcourse the maintainance. so ertiga makes more sense.
Evalia is a big no. getting in & out in the last row is a mess even for children’s. if budget is not an issue go for Innova, or else have a look at Ertiga. the engine in maruti ertiga is same as that of swift but is a bit tweaked to cope the extra weight …engine feels peppy & a good handeller..
definitely INNOVA is the best. it gives the value for money.
Nissan Evalia is King Uncle..premium..feel rich after innova..evalia is amazing…to hit….
At that price you will only get petrol Automatic’s as far as sedans are concerned. If you can stretch your budget go for the Hyundai Fluidic Verna 1.6 CRDi SX (O) AT which costs Rs.11.30 (ex-showroom). Or you could opt for an automatic diesel hatch
under 10 L diesel AT would be hard to find if you go for brand new car. However, Hyundai Verna has a AT variant which would be little more than the budget.
from my opinion best sedan automatic under 10 lakhs is ford fiesta diesel and sx4 diesel.these are cars with lots of features, good handling and low maintenance also .
Actually the SX4 does not come with a diesel AT variant its only the petrol ZXi AT.
There is an all new diesel EX AT varient in verna which costs around 11.7 to 12 lakhs depending on your location
*The above price is onroad
If you can stretch your budget by a 2-3 lakhs you would have some good options.. If you are ok with used Automatics, then you can find yourselves good used skoda automatic for 7-8 lks..
There is a new Hyundai Verna EX automatic diesel variant now, priced at Rs. 10.1 lakh or so in Delhi – this is a good deal. Hyundai quietly slipped this variant in last month. (edit) – Ashish ^^ has also mentioned this above.
heard Verna GC is not good, thus accordingly once should decide.
You can opt Maruti Swift LDi which would come on road within 6.5 L. Being a Maruti it would be all good in order to maintain the car. FE is good you’ll get 16 kmpl in city and more than 20 kmpl on highway. Rest of the feature are well known to every one. If you are more concerned of safety you may look in to Ritz and more space then Ford Figo. Thanks.
go for ford figo titanium diesel price 6lakhs
If looking at a petrol hatch, its the Jazz Select. In diesel hatch backs, its the Figo Titanium. Both are very well rounded cars, the Jazz is a premium petrol hatch whilst the Figo is a VFM diesel hatch. Both have maintenance at par with competition, good space, good ride quality, decent engine power, a list of practical features. Always go in for…[Read more]
Whats you monthly/yearly useage?
ritz zdi its little over 7 lakhs but comes with complete peace of mind and also has airbags and abs
totally agree with Amit. i myself have Figo zxi and couldn’t go for titanium due to monetary constraints but its always good to go for safety features if you can afford it
. Figo wont disappoint you and Jazz in case of petrol if you need then safety features are offered in the base variant itself : ) and its a great car to dive
Thanks Everyone………….. I may be using the car very rarely for going out with my family, also on vacations.
If your intent is to use the car sparingly go for a petrol.. The Cartoq diesel decider should help you..
